"For our main course, we ordered the “Hähnchen-Ubere.” The two pieces of chicken were very dry, served with a generous portion of chips that were quite tasty, along with some limp lettuce and a piece of mushroom. When we inquired about a sauce, we were told that it didn't come with one, but we could purchase a sauce for an additional £2.50. The red wine we chose was served in the smallest carafes and was notably watery. We also requested a side of seasonal vegetables, expecting something like steamed broccoli, but instead received a bowl of overcooked diced vegetables that were bland and unappetizing. After a few bites, we found it inedible. When we raised our concerns, the staff was gracious and informed us that we wouldn’t be charged for the main meal, only for the wine and bread. Unfortunately, this visit was on our wedding anniversary, and we were incredibly disappointed with the entire experience. We won’t be returning."

IOW tomatoes was actually half a standard tomato and the buttermilk chicken was a raw KFC still with blood visible.

Does the basics well but an attempt at curried vegetables was dreadful! Sent it back and ordered fish and chips. Burger was excellent as were the waiting staff

My wife, my son, and I had a wonderful evening at the restaurant, thanks to the highly professional staff. It's truly commendable, and it reflects well on the hotel's reputation from Scotland.

I used this place for business meetings quite a bit before the pandemic, although the booking system has changed, you can 't just drop in the facilities are just as comfortable as they always were. Food, service and setting all beautiful.

I booked the table while on my way to the hotel and we were running late due to poor weather conditions, I was staying in the hotel too and told reception we were running late. Arrived 10 minutes after our original seating time and the chef had cleaned up and closed the kitchen so although the restaurant sent me confirmations to say I was seated and have asked me to review I’m not sure how I can seeing as they couldn’t keep the kitchen open until passed 8.40pm.

for the price I was really disappointed. that was nice. but nothing special. steak was a bit overcooked like the huh. my son really enjoyed the fish boouillabaisse. the starters were nice again, but too expensive. but wein was excellent. the waiting staff was a bit unstoppable. had to ask twice for the wee menu and when I found out that the glass of my child had a long chip in it, it was taken away, but not replaced. the personal had often headed down, instead of looking around whether they were needed and I couldn't call out because the place was so quiet that only 3 tables were served. overall disappointed, but eating was fine and excellent wein.

"I've known this pub/restaurant for your years, and the downfall of this establishment is nothing to do with COVID, its the management!! During and since COVID there's been a strong emphasis on booking, so I telephoned beforehand just to make sure for a midweek lunch... Yes highly recommend to book they said! Me thinking it was going to be busy. Turned up at the door and as intructed waitied to be seated. Hung around for about minutes, no one around, no one at the bar, no waitress on the floor, no manager, no customers to be precise! Finally a young girl appeared from the kitchen and sat us down. Food and drinks arrived OK and fairly quickly, but then other customers tuned up, hung around to be seated and again no staff to be seen. As we were seated by the door, we spoke and suggested to these customers to move on down the raad to the Bold Forester where the service and attention is much better. We must have turned away about people during the course of our lunch and the staff hadn't even noticed and had no idea! There was only the chef, one waiter and a manager on shift, and we were the only customers, so where and what the hell these staff were doing, God only knows? In its heyday, this place hinged upon its managers who'd pack this pub with walkers, cyclists and those wanting a lunch. This place is owned by Forest Inns and my message to the MD, Gary Baldwin, is buck up! and let the Lydhurst Park Hotel be a memorial and reminder, of what happens when you let complaincy take over and let things slip."
