"For my starter, I had the beef carpaccio, which was delightful. My friend opted for the soup, and I’ve noticed that the better the food, the less we tend to chat. For the main course, I chose the steak, which I was told can be a bit tough. I confirmed this before ordering, but it’s not something I would get again. My friend had the gnocchi and was so engrossed in her meal that she barely made a sound until her plate was clean. I might try that next time if it’s available. For dessert, we enjoyed a delicious strawberry and sherry trifle, and once again, the atmosphere was so good that we barely spoke until every last morsel was gone. Throughout our meal, our waitress frequently checked in to make sure everything was satisfactory and whether we needed anything. I tend to gauge a restaurant's quality by the state of the ladies' room, and I must say, Adam's Brasserie excels in this area; it was spotless, with hand wash and cream available. There was also a large basket filled with individual towels for drying hands, and the restroom had a lovely fragrance. The only improvement I’d suggest is a check on the wallpaper. Overall, we enjoyed an exceptional meal in a wonderful setting, served by friendly and attentive staff. We look forward to returning in January to celebrate my birthday!"

The restaurant was quite crowded, with one large group, and there weren't enough staff members to manage the situation. Additionally, having only three options on the menu was disappointing.

We ordered their Salmon and Pheasant Main Courses. The Salmon was tolerable but not tasty. The pheasant was tough and the sauce almost inedible. The prices were high. Would not go there again. Pity such a nice location and surroundings. View menu

Food was nice but Sunday roast wasn't what I'd expected, the chicken was small while chicken, quite fiddle to eat because of the bones, meat was hard to cut into on beef as knife blunt. Desert crumble was not at all satisfying unfortunately. Apart from location and nice atmosphere I can't recommend otherwise:

The waiters were pleasant , polite and helpful. One person came to our table to ask if everything was alright. We appreciated that gesture. We had brought with us our cousins visiting from France and they too enjoyed the food . It was just excellent fresh homemade cooking. One cousin said that she has never tasted such great Fish and chips. The fish was cooked perfectly. The pie of the day was perfect too. We will certainly go back soon. Well done ! Christian

Dreadful experience mother’s day treat which turned into a disaster. We arrived with the two tables either side of us making complaints about how slow the service was and about the food. We waited 15 minutes for a jug of tap water, a further 15 minutes for our bottle of wine and an hour and a quarter for three Caesar salads and some poached haddock. The kitchen couldn’t cope with multiple tables ordering yet the restaurant was only half full. Won’t be going back View menu

Another issue that hindered our experience was that some of the vegetables were undercooked, to the point of being quite tough. We didn’t mention this when the staff inquired whether everything was okay, but we decided that during our next Christmas visit, we would try something different from the traditional Christmas lunch we usually order. On a positive note, the atmosphere was delightful, my carrot and fennel soup was delicious, and my dessert was equally impressive. Despite the minor complaints, we genuinely enjoyed our time at Adam's Brasserie.

This was supposed to be a special 88th birthday lunch for my father. Firstly our drinks were forgotten about and took forever to arrive. The starters were very good and arrived together . We then waited an age for the main courses..... my fathers chicken dish arrived and we told him to start as it would get cold . Our salads failed to arrive despite asking several times if they would be arriving anytime soon . We were then told my father had been given his meal wrongly and it had been meant for someone else he had finished it by then ! Our salads eventually arrived with another chicken dish for dad which obviously he didn’t want . When it came to dessert he ordered the chocolate tarte and ho...

"After reading all the good reviews we decided to try this restaurant and had high expectations We arrived to not a particularly warm welcome the waitress told us the specials were chicken, steak and veal and walked off no mention of how they were cooked or what sauces they came with and no prices after asking how the veal came the waitress had to go into kitchen and ask the chef who shouted out how they were cooked and the waitress then said did you hear that? we decided to just order off of the menu we ordered drinks to start with (a bottle of rose wine plonked on the table not even opened) when the lady came to take our order we asked if we could have a few minutes to finish our pre dinner drinks it was obviously a problem for her that we wanted to wait a short while and after being asked for about the fifth time we felt under pressure to place our order (even though the restaurant was half empty) whilst the pasta dishes were nice the garlic bread left a lot to be desired basically just a toasted slice of white dry bread as soon as we had finished our main course our plates were taken away and the bill put on the table we were not asked if we wanted anything else as we still had half a bottle of wine left we didn’t settle the bill straight away as we were enjoying our wine we lost count of the times they tried to ask us to pay again under immense pressure we paid and felt like we had to leave it was not a relaxing evening nor were we made to feel welcome. This restaurant specialises in pasta and pizza and we heard the waitress telling tow guys who wanted pizza that they only had enough dough left for one pizza they had run out and it was only 8.30! Overall our experience of this restaurant was very disappointing very rushed, unfriendly staff, no niceties and certainly not a relaxing evening we will not be returning."
