"So so disappointed with dinner here last night. Dined here 13th July and a few months before that. Food was exceptional. Dined yesterday with my 3 sisters for a birthday celebration. I had my usual chicken goujons and they were only small crispy ends with almost no chicken. One sister had the roast Turkey and ham mostly stuffing with some vegetables which were practically unrecognisable. Another sister had haddock which was overcooked. The waiter mistakenly took the wrong order for the 4th sister and she was served salmon with roast potatoes which were obviously reheated she had asked for chips. Again, it was hard to decipher what the veg was. We were very very disappointed. Desserts were lovely. Service was good waiter kept telling us that he’d report all back to the chef. It was so bad, the waiter removed the price of our teas. So so disappointed."

"I visited here to pick up a couple of last minute Christmas gifts. Clean and tidy with plenty of welcoming, attentive staff. Was surprised at just how much of a range of wines there was. Best range of alcohol for miles around! Promotional displays were well thought out. Would definitely recommend."

"When it first opened, chemical and v60 's were offered and the staff knew their coffee 's offering speciality beans too. Now the level of knowledge appears to be Americano with varying degrees of milk added. Asked for a v60 and was told they ever done such a thing, asked for a filter coffee and the response was we do americano . Coffee is still nice and the eats are grand too but it 's not what it used to be."

"What on earth is going on in this restaurant? We waited 15 minutes to be seated at our table despite it being quiet. Staff literally stood behind the bar looking at us but were too busy talking to come over. We were eventually seated and our order was taken. We waited 60 minutes for our food to arrive and when it did the chips were cold and part of our order was wrong. At this stage were that hungry we just ate what had been brought. We then sat with dirty plates for another 35 minutes until eventually I went to find a member of staff to clear the table as we wanted to order desserts. Another 15 mins passed and eventually our dessert order was taken. The pizzas were very good and the burgers were tasty but this is a diner style restaurant not fine dining so I wouldn't expect exceptional food and neither would I expect such a long wait to get food the wait ruined the whole experience. When the desserts finally arrived we had no cutlery to eat them with and had to ask. To be honest the desserts were not worth the wait or the money they are all bought in and what sounded good on the menu certainly underwhelmed us. They had a dime smores cake with fresh cookie dough that sounded amazing but when it came it was a disappointment. We were never asked the entire time if we wanted more drinks and this is how restaurants make money servers should be asking diners if they need more drinks throughout their meal. The restaurant is grubby and the menus are filthy to the point we wouldn't touch 2 of them. This is unacceptable why would you present your diners with dirty menus. The toilets are disgusting and need a good clean if that is on view in the public eye what are the areas such as the kitchen like that you don't see. It definitely isn't worth the money they are charging and the management need to really look at staff training and improve drastically on customer service. There should be no restaurant in this day and age where customers have to wait that long for food and have to physically search for servers. Very poor experience I would not recommend this restaurant."

"Was in the star of indian again tonight and as ever the food was superb and the service second to none. As the song says simply the best Always great service and food. I see another award has been won by Daz and the staff, well done folks. It remains my favourite restaurant in the town. I just noticed another away for 2019 Just had my first india post the Covid-19 events. The Star of India was an good as ever. Well done Daz and the team! Still the best in 2020 In tonight (3rd Mar. 2023), was chatting to Daz, in great form. food was fabulous as per normal aloo chat and the Naganji was amazing. best peswari in NI. a must for all loves of award wining india food"
