The food was delicious and there was plenty of it. The service was excellent. We dined in for dinner and the price per person was £20–30. The food and service both received a rating of 5, while the atmosphere was rated a 4.

I don't understand why this restaurant is so empty. The food was outstanding. The curry and chips were delicious, and the popadoms and pickle trays were fresh and crispy. I ordered the chicken saag balti and it was fantastic! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

The appetizers are still excellent, faultless, but the curries have been lacking lately. I used to love the lamb on the bone, but now it's not as good. The sauce that comes with it is bland. I went with a friend last week and we ended up taking the leftover food home. We both left half of our curries and when we told the waiter, he apologized.

Not been for about a year but what a difference. No atmosphere. When we've been before was always busy but was so quiet tonight. The food was just so average. We're from Sheffield and love Elland and was looking forward to eating here, but so disappointed tonight.... the young staff are very sweet, heard one of the managers talking to them in not a nice way... uncalled for. We really like it here. Enough to go twice in a week. The menu was quite different to the more generic stuff we see at home. Less greasy and much more tasty. Friendly staff, excellent menu choice for veggies. Don't be put of by the dark exterior making it look like they're closed... They probably aren't and much brighter one inside (we had walked past thinking it was closed but glad to be wrong). Food: 5 View menu

Ate here yesterday for a birthday meal i pre booked 2 tables for 15 of us .. we got their and ordered straght away... starters took about 40 minutes to rock up and then another 45 minutes for our rice to rock up with no curry at the same time... was waiting for the curry about another 20 mintues whilst rice was going cold... waitresses are very young and didnt have much confidence talking to grown ups.. i wouldnt reccomend eating in only takeaway Parking: pay by cash for parking

The owner appears to be pleasant, but unfortunately the service at this restaurant is lacking. The young woman with glasses was impolite and lacked manners, not paying attention to anything we said. Our orders were incorrect, some items were missing, and our drinks never arrived. When we asked for the bill, she ignored us and we had to request it from another staff member. The food was decent but not exceptional. The manager should consider hiring better employees. Overall, the service experience for dining in was disappointing.

Absolutely outstanding! First time ordering here and they smashed it out of the park. A couple of our regular curry houses had gone downhill and we'd tried a few places trying to find a new gem all were pretty average in all honesty. Akhtars was recommended to us by a friend who'd previously recommended our current favourite kebab house. Ordered a peshwari tikka creamy but with a kick, just my style. My wife ordered desi lamb, rich and spicy. Great spice blend, tender meat. Keema rice was excellent, prawn puri was perfect and the garlic naan, although slightly burnt, we quite like that charred flavour so not a negative there either.
