"They had talked to us at lunch and so we'll have a dinner for the evening after recommending that we don't be late. they call us back in the morning for confirmation, asking us politely to comply with the times and then in the evening we arrive a good quarter of an hour in advance to stay with the times. we welcome in the beautiful interior room, very characteristic. read that there is a fixed menu with a formula of choice of four types opting for that from € appetizers, first and sweets leaving the seconds. we wait for the start to bring the appetizers to us but after a half hour we notice that despite the reassurances after our solicitations on the table has not yet arrived anything while all the other commens were already having dinner. a little before the six young people arrive next to our table and as by magic here that finally after not even ten minutes we begin to serve together (less bad that they had recommended us maximum punctuality, perhaps they have a different time zone). However the dishes are one better than the other, good appetizers with an exceptional ham and a dish with excellent red onion in sweets. good the first of a local pasta called ferretti with a pig ragù, definitely less tasty the other of gnocchi with the rocket. full of wine, not bad sweets with local digestives."

"Anche quest'anno,come tutti gli anni,torniamo alla nostra casa di Scalea,purtroppo solo d'estate...e cosi torniamo sempre a La Rondinella, il ristorante che ci accoglie in reciproca fedeltà,è il nostro nido gastronomico,che ci coccola con Francesca e Giovanni,ottimi prosecutori di Anna e Ciriaco,nella splendida e storica Piazza dei Principi.Luogo,atmosfera,accoglienza e prelibatezze,quest'anno,millefoglie di baccalà,spaghetti alla scaleota,quasi parmiggiana,e tante altri piatti gustosi fra tradizione e nouvelle cuisine...ecc,ecc,andateci,gustateli e mi ringrazierete"

"An atmospheric place very close to the highest point of old town. The guys do not speak english at all, and even do not have english menu, but anything we randomly chose was delicious! Antipasti huge portion for 2 (vegetables, meats, cheese, salami, fried zucchini pancakes . Pasta with beans and picanto olive oil It was something extraordinary! unexpectedly reach of taste! also could be shared for 2. Mix of meats fried pork, beef and 1 cotlete. After the above we just took it away home, and enjoyed the breakfast next day. Taking into account the size of portions and the quality of food, i can not say the place is expensive. It is worth visiting, if you love to eat! :"

"Vengo da tanti anni in vacanza a Scalea, e non avevo mai mangiato in questo magnifico posto, com 'è possibile? È stata una piacevole scoperta, ahimè forse in ritardo, ma si è ancora in tempo per recuperare Sono venuta in compagnia di amici e nonostante fosse alquanto tardi, i gentilissimi proprietari ci hanno accontentato in ogni modo possibile, sono stati davvero gentilissimi e disponibili. Oltre alle classiche arancine , ci sono anche altri gusti, tra cui una variante calabrese con la 'nduja e una deliziosa con il pistacchio. Penso di non aver mai assaggiato arancine così buone! Veramente squisite. Complimenti ai proprietari, siete riusciti a portare un pezzo di Sicilia in Calabria. Sicuramente ci ritornerò, l 'anno prossimo in vacanza sarà la mia prima tappa."

"We ate here 2 nights in a row it’s on the beach a short walk out of town. Brilliant ambience if you are lucky enough to get a table outside. We had seafood antipasto, the mussels and clams, and a few pasta dishes. Not much English is spoken which cause a couple of our courses to be doubled up. And we had booked on TripAdvisor on the basis of a 20% discount this was also the subject of some translation difficulties. I don’t put this on the restaurant though, our fault for not having better command of the Italian language. Overall a terrific meal x 2. We paid a little more than we needed to but the bead setting Madegra it wo thwhile. Recommended."
