"We picked this place at random as we walked around Cochem near dinner hour and were not disappointed. In fact we came back the next night as well we were so happy with the GREAT food and GREAT service. They have lovely terrace which is canopied...in grape leaves. The wait staff are attentive without hovering over you as you eat. We both had the lamb chops which were seasoned and cooked to perfection. I recommend! We paid around euros for our main course, wine and apple strudel dessert"

The food was over cooked, and not very creative. The restaurant was outdated. In hindsight, I really wonder why we even tried it. Perhaps the seasonal specialties..

I ordered a breadcrumbed fish dish and discovered that it had to be cooked from frozen by the taste. Fries were not very tasty so overall an unexciting lunch. It's right in the heart of the town so goes without saying it's busy. Won't be...returning. Expected more for the money

Food very heavy and not the best ingredients. It’s typical German dishes but red cabbage sweet, sauces heavy and sweet, meat not great, basically was like cantine food but restaurant prices. Wine was expensive and not good. We would not return. Service was ok and...it’s a big place

This is a big restaurant very well centralized in the old town. The food is tasteful meanly the meat we had. My husband had Lams Filet and I had Entrecôte with champignons sauce, both delicious. Our server was very kind and polite. I could observe...that all staff is very attentive and efficient

Very near to the Cologne bridge. This is a very touristy place. We ordered black forest and honestly it was the worst black forest cake I have ever eaten. All the drinks and coffee were fine but very expensive. The Riesling tasted like a low...quality supermarket bought one. There are excellent cafes in Cochem and if possible avoid this one

Located right at the start of the bridge, the restaurant serves pretty decent german food. There are two seating areas, cosy space on the inside, and there is an alfresco area as well. Do try the draft beer! Its one of the nicer light beers...we had in germany. If there is one thing we didnt enjoy, it would be the soup incredibly salty. And if you cant read german, there is an english menu

"I read some reviews and heard from friends that this was thé place to eat in Cochem am Mosel, so we were very excited to find the restaurant near empty on our arrival as we had expected a wait. There was nobody to greet us as we walked in so after waiting politely waiting at the entrance for a bit we decided to seat ourselves awaiting the the host, waiter/waitress to come and greet us.It took another 5 minutes for the waitress to show up. As soon as she showed up she kindly requested us to move from the cozy booth-like spacious table to a smaller wooden table. Since the entire restaurant was empty, with the exception of one gentleman and it was about an hour before closing we did not see her point to keep the large table for non-guests so we kindly declined. The frauleins entire attitude changed and we could hear her screaming and yelling in the kitchen to the chef. She then proceeded to vent her grief to the other patron in German. One might imagine her surprise when I kindly informed her that I was able to understand her conversations ( I am Dutch so I understand the language ) and did not appreciate her treating us this way. Being used to American customer service I do lower my standards somewhat but to be told smack about a semi-professional in a small town restaurant in the middle of nowhere is not something I accept. We were looking forward to taste the local food but were quite frankly concerned that this would come with some non-sanitary condiments."
