"How I wish we could give this Restaurant, more than 5 stars, suffice to say, we My Husband myself went here two nights running, it was that good. I 've been a Chef for decades, so feel I can give an honest, unbiased opinion about the food. The word fabulous, doesn 't really give the Sea bed enough credit. We had never been here before, but read about it, in this Months Nov 2023 Scots magazine. On seeing it was in the vacinity we were staying in, for my 80th Birthday, decided to try it. SO glad we did. First night, Neil, the smashing happy informative server, was amazing, very quick with the food. Thanks for that, even tho ' we hadn 't booked, took a chance on getting a table, as it was a Monday night. It was really busy ! Tells you everything I think. The 2nd night, Ross the lovely young lady server, were brilliant, nothing was too much trouble for them. Portions were a good size, we left feeling as tho ' we 'd had a meal sadly, unlike some eating establishments in the area The sea Bed, overlooks the harbour in Tarbert, is part of the Anchor Hotel. We will definately be staying there, when we 're up that way again from our Home in Ayrshire. Can 't wait to come back ! We certainly will Haste us back"

Fabulous, we walked in without a reservation, and the waitress managed to squeeze us in at 7.45pm. Service was excellent. Food was delicious and presentation was amazing. Great atmosphere, clean , stylish and warm. Worth every penny. We will definitely return for an overnight break and book into the hotel.

Both had venison haunch with greens, mash, bramble jus. Service was very good, attentive without being overwhelming. Venison cooked to perfection and the greens had been seasoned in a really interesting and delightful way. Mash was the only slight letdown as it was a little dry. Would happily eat her again.

Fantastic food, superb flavours, great menu selection in a relaxed and welcoming environment. So glad we booked here for our overnight stay in Tarbert. We were spoilt for choice with both starters and mains. My wife ordered ham hock terrine delicious and I went for langoustines fabulous. For mains the scallops with black pudding was perfectly cooked and presented and my Moroccan fish stew was one of the tastiest fish dishes I have come across We were not rushed but the staff were attentive, welcoming and helpful Overall a great restaurant

Really nice restaurant in a small hotel and town. But the atmosphere is quiet and calm, the service is superb and most important the food is so good! And prices are quite reasonable for very large portions. For the three of us we each got something different each of two nights and can highly recommend everything we tried. Cullen skink is very good but be careful as it is really hot when it comes out. The mussels are perfectly cooked and the cream sauce they ar in would make a great soup all by itself. Fantastic to dip your bread in. Langostines and scallops all perfectly cooked and seasoned. Peat smoked haddock had just the right amount of peat smoke, fish and chips very nice but my personal...

One of the great joys of a trip to Scotland is to eat the seafood and on this brief cycle trip we tried the Sea Bed restaurant. It was one of those places where the variety on the menu makes you wish you had a few more nights to work your way through it. I eventually settled on the Seafood Platter but as I didn't think that would fill me after a day on the bike I started with a very decent Cullen Skink. I was only half way through that when a huge seafood platter arrived at a neighbouring table and I realised the enormity of my tactical error. Nevertheless I rallied to the cause when my own Platter arrived. I'm ashamed to say I didn't get quite to the end. It wasn't just the eating that made...

"We booked this restaurant after reading the reviews while touring Scotland what a disappointment. When we arrived we were shown to a table straight behind the door and as it kept opening and shutting it blew a massive amount of cold air in. As both parents and staff allowed 2 young children to go in and out every few minutes it got a bit much. We were given the menu and told specials were on the board. No description or recommendation. Also they did not say the board also goes over the top of the fish on didplay. I had crab claws to start the mayonnaise was lovely and what I could get out of the claws was nice but I was given no instruments to get into the claws and they were not broken enough for them to just pull out. I ordered the turbut for main as did my husband it was a small fillet with the skin correctly removed but it was loaded with garlic butter sauce you couldn't taste the fish for the garlic. Also which was worse I don't know what they did to the top of it but it was yellow and like thin rubber. We had to peel it off it was not good. I didn't complain at the time because I am not used to having a fillet of turbut. When I have had it before my husband and I have shared a turbut presented whole at the table. I have only written this today after speaking to some friends who said i should put something on because there had to be something wrong for the top of the fish to be yellow and leathery. You might guess but I won't be going back."
