"We spent time here recently in one of the cabins attached to the main building with our dogs. The room was clean but tiny and dark and the bathroom smelt musty. It was badly in need of an update I can’t imagine when it was last done. The beds were uncomfortable. The road was noisy constant traffic including lorries which kept is awake most of the night. It was good to have a small grassy area at the back to take our dogs for a wee. Lots of tea coffee and toiletries provided which was nice and most of the staff were very friendly. Due to my husband being taken ill we had to stay an extra night, we were charged over £90 for this which I thought expensive compared to what we had paid for the rest of our stay. Whilst packing to leave one of the dogs pushed a biscuit under the bed. I put my hand under to get it but couldn’t reach it so I got a wire coat hanger from the cupboard to get it out. I was shocked to see an unwrapped razor blade appearing. Luckily I hadn’t sliced my fingers. I took it to the reception when I checked out and gave it to the man there. He just looked at it and mumbled something about workman. I didn’t get an apology or a show of any concern. I felt he was very rude. We were not happy with our accommodation and won’t be going back."

If you only want a main course forget it as you have to pay for 2 courses, you do not get a reduced charge if you want a main course only.

En route to a Wedding over the weekend in Diss, we spotted this and decided to have lunch. The car park was very full, but i did just manage to squeeze in.

We only stayed one night unfortunately. We were treated very kindly and given a very nice room with a really comfortable bed. Breakfast was excellent I recommend the bacon! Many thanks. We hope to return, View menu

It was fairly quiet when we visited for Sunday lunch. The place itself is clean and well decorated. Staff very pleasant, helpful and friendly. Our meal was delicious. Cooked perfectly and steaming hot. Generous portion sizes too. A very pleasant visit.

We did not stay in this hotel, just had lunch in its restaurant. We had to wait a long time for our food because everything was cooked to order. This would not have been a problem if the food had been really good, but it wasn't it was very average pub style food.

We attended for a group lunch. Two people to serve 40. One behind bar in lounge serving also in function room. Slow unsure service and expensive for some. Food received and was ok but some experienced a long delay and one gluten free meal had terrible gravy. With only two serving the food it took a long time and was not a controlled event. This was far from what had been a good previous experience. We will not go again. View menu

We were there to stay close to family. The room is so cluttered with furniture it was very difficult to move around so you could only sit/lay on the bed once you were in the room. The room fronted the hotel and the noise from the traffic was unbearable. Some of the staff were nice friendly but some (in particular the Asstnt Mgr) was downright rude. We cut our stay short to get away from the place. Definitely would never stay there again.

Unfortunately we invited the family to Christmas lunch with us. We had my grandson who is 12 with us. He asked if the Yorkshire puddings had been cooked on the sun. They were black as were some of the baked potatoes. Obviously been waiting in the oven for hours. Our main meal didn’t arrive until almost 3pm. The beef was advertised as rib which it most certainly wasn’t. Hard to tell as the slice was so small. There were three waitresses to serve in the region of 60 people. Never again.

"We had pre-booked a table for 6 people to have lunch at 2:15pm. We arrived on time and were shown to the table, which had only been set for 4 people which meant we had to pull a further 2 chairs up to the table, and had to request a wine list. We ordered a round of drinks for the table which took c. 15 minutes to arrive. We were waiting a considerable amount of time for a food menu. Eventually we called a waiter over to order some food and were told that the kitchen we no longer serving, despite having booked a table for lunch and not being warned of the kitchen closing time. The staff told us to be quick in ordering however took a further 10 minutes to come and take the order. The food eventually came and the waitress didn 't even put the food at the correct place, she merely put them on the table for us to distribute accordingly. When the bill eventually came, we politely requested the *optional service charge was removed from the bill as we did not feel that we had received adequate service to warrant a tip, to which the manager began shouting that it as shocking that we wanted to rightfully remove the tip. He went on to say that the kitchen staff had stayed over time to prepare our food. My question to the owner is this... if your chefs are unwilling to work over their hours, why are you offering a reservation close to closing time whilst your staff are incapable of processing the orders to the kitchens in the correct timescale and working hours. If we were told that the kitchen were closing soon, we would have cooperated with the staff to help them work to their time scales."
