"we went on a trip to hamburg to the kai and it was absolutely a highlight. the restaurant itself is beautiful- inside is beautiful, sitting are really comfortable and we had a fantastic view over the water. the eating was absolutely beautiful, could not fail....I would recommend the thunfischtare! the service was also top notch, especially daniell, which filled a whole fish on our table with only one spoon and one fork. we had a nice evening in a wonderful environment and I will definitely be back when I am in hamburg."

Nice reastaurant on the Elb river in the Altona fishmarket area. Good food, well prepared and a nice view. Will go again maybe in summer to eat in the outdoor patio

From appetizers to main to dessert beyond exceptional. Sushi is extremely special and seafood pasta was beyond The Burned Yuzu Lemon Tart is a must have to conclude a very special dinner.

We meet in Au Quai for a business lunch with a partner company. We had a very good lunch and the service was very friendly. Additionally the design of the restaurant is really great and that’s something I enjoy as well. Altogether a very good...experience and I will definitely come back!

the tunar tatar as starter was really good. the same with the aperitif. but then it goes downhill. the seabass was actually good, but the massaged patato and source did not fit to the fish and tasted not so well. the broccoli was very good....The dessert tasted more like jam. in comparison to the price and a similar restaurant we visited the day before we escaped. the view and the landscape was fantastic.

We chose it for dinner to celebrate our aniversary. The atmosphere is charming, very romantic, including a nice view of the river and the harbour. We tried gyozas, bouillabaisse, the US flank steak and the strawberry dessert. Everything was really tasty and beautifully presented. They...also have a large offer of wine. Since our arrival the service from all the staff was impeccable. Highly recommended to celebrate special occasions.
