"The food is decent but the service is slow. We were seated at 12:30 ready to order and we only got the food at 13:45 with the Restaurant half empty. They didn’t apologize but brought me a new tea as mine got cold waiting. When...you try to call for a reservation they are a bit brüsk in rejecting you. When you do succeed at making a reservation you get seated in the very back at the worst table. We went there four times in the last year , thinking every time that they were having a bad day and hoping it would be better (for the sake of some pancakes) but the service is always thoughtless at best."

Favorite Brunch Place in Basel. Feels like you’re eating at a family friends place. Can only recommend. The Egg Benedict is incredibly tasty!!

It was very well attended, which is only too understandable because the brunch menu is very large and there is definitely something for vegans (several options)

Pour performance over a weekend lunch. it was perhaps 1/3 occupied and we had to wait more than 30 minutes for simple roasted sandwiches. When you end here, do not go for the class Sandvich it is dry and bitter. The bag Marcel had more taste and juice.

Great atmosphere, but incredibly exorbitant prices: Brunch for 15. means: A little salad with a small piece of quiche, a piece of old bread (from the day before? , 1 small smoothie and a cracker. A scrambled egg and a cappuccino cost an additional 10.50. For >25. I have had a much better brunch

It's a lovely place with a great variety of brunch food in a cozy ambiente. They serve a lot of vegetarian and vegan options. The matcha latte and the veggie plate were both very delicious, and I can only recommend it. The smoothie was freshly made with orange and pineapple, and even their pesto and hummus are homemade amazing!

The worst Brunch we ever had in Basel. Super loud and crowded, the waitresses have no basic training to serve the customers. We had to wait for 40 minutes until the food arrived. The pancake tasted strange. Something in the food was not ok, my son even thrown up the whole meal immediately after eating. We will never go there again!

Nice little local breakfast and brunch place it has a lot of variety of food selection. The place seems to be very busy by the time it gets closer to lunch or brunch time and they open at 9:00 so I recommend if you can wake up and come slightly earlier just go ahead. The place is cozy and comfortable. if I had more time, I would just to sit there and enjoy tea or coffee and do some reading with some snacks in the meantime.

I recently had lunch at Avant Gouz with a group of friends, some of whom have food allergies. I was deeply disappointed by the staff 's lack of knowledge regarding the ingredients in their dishes. When asked if a particular dish contained fava beans, the only response we received was vegetables. It 's alarming and unacceptable that a restaurant is unaware of what they are serving, especially when customers ' health and safety are at stake. I found this experience quite unsettling and would urge potential diners to exercise caution if they have dietary restrictions.

"Cheval Blanc is the ultimate classic French fine dining experience in Switzerland. We came here to celebrate my birthday while in Switzerland looking for a 3 Michelin stars experience. Located in the historical Grand Hotel Les Trois Rios. The riverside setting is charming and romantic. You start by a welcome drink at the terrace looking at the Rhine greeted by suited , polite and professional staff. The head chef Peter Knogl came to say hi before we moved to the main dining room and service started. The decor and interior is classy retro French with high ceilings, arches, classic chandeliers, large windows and round tables with candles. Ambience is warm and intimate. Service was top notch and impeccable. Staff were all knowledgeable with refreshing attention to details. Cuisine was modern french with Mediterranean influences, flavors were complex and dynamic. Ingredients were chosen carefully and courses were presented beautifully. I liked all of my courses, highlights of the menu were the Sardine Macaron, Langoustine curry, Red Mullet filet and the French saddle of lamb with mediterranean flavors. Wine pairing was excellent and enhanced every course taste and flavor. Sommelier was very professional and knowledgeable yet intimidating a bit. The French Cheese selections from Maître Antony in Ferrette was aromatic, rich and satisfying, Maître Antony is one of the best in the world that many Michelin starred Chefs get their fine cheeses selection from. The night ended well with a couple of delightful desserts courses, few delectable bites and some velvety chocolate. Overall, we had an elevated fine dining experience that will bring me back if in Basel again."
