We all had a wonderful meal, it was excellent food cooked beautifully. Great ambience and fantastic service. If we lived nearby we would visit regularly.

Fish pie was over cooked and really very boring. Very little fish, a lot of dry potato and no sides. Glass of house white wine £12! Seems a lot for a casual, mid range restaurant. Overall, disappointing.

Visited yesterday for my birthday and we couldn't fault the food or customer service. I was amazed when my 70 year old parents said it was the best Sunday roast that they have EVER had (and, believe me, they've had a few over the years! We have always been big fans of Bel Dragon. The ambiance is truly beautiful, and although the prices for food and drinks are on the higher side, we have never minded paying in the past. In February, we booked a lunch when Bel Dragon was promoting a two-course menu. However, the manager only offered the à la carte menu and seemed quite surprised (and not too pleased) when we requested to see the set menu. The food was quite average, leaving us feeling overall disappointed.

Lovely venue, and it was a cold night with snow just starting, so the open fires were a cheering and welcome attraction. We visited primarily because this venue not only has a vegan menu but the vegan meals are also properly nutritious ie not just a meat or vegetarian dish and they 've taken away the meat/dairy/eggs. Very pleased with our meals, though disappointed that the one 'proper ' vegan dessert was not available (the pineapple and peach ravioli). The only alternative was vegan ice cream or sorbet not on a snowy winter 's night, thanks! One other gripe, and that is that the open fire in the restaurant was allowed to completely go out it was a really quiet night only a few tables occupi...

The venue is nice in a lovely rural setting. The food is fine however overpriced. There was noting wrong with my steak and I have been four times as it is on my doorstep however after last weeks visit I would say it was average. This is such a shame as it could be so good. Take a visit to the Deers Hut in Liphook and compare the service. The staff can be polite but they are lacking in knowledge all round. Training is needed in areas of food knowledge and how to speak to customers. You cannot call everyone from a baby to an octogenarian Guys .
