Our group of women came in February last year and so enjoyed it we decided to repeat the event Once again beautiful food and excellent service. plenty of tea and coffee

Scones so hard my knife did not cut througt, impossible to know what was the past expiry date of the three mini gateau. Sandwiches were fresh! But this is a no-go. Never again!

The restaurant was absolutely amazing outstanding food great service all the staff were helpful well dressed and welcoming. It is in great spot in the centre of Birmingham it is a hidden gem inside the heart of the city centre

The scones were so hard that my knife couldn't cut through them, and I couldn't even find a visible expiration date on the three mini gateaux. The sandwiches were fresh, which was nice, but overall, it's a no-go for me. I won't be returning!

We arrived early, but the staff were incredibly accommodating and promptly served our afternoon tea. The tea tray was beautifully presented. However, one suggestion for improvement would be to provide a menu that lists the available teas and coffees, as well as descriptions of the cakes—otherwise, we were left guessing! Overall, it was a lovely way to spend the afternoon celebrating a birthday!

The service was excellent. The ambience is also very nice. Unfortunately, the food was disappointing. The sandwich fillings did not taste fresh. There was avocado filling that tasted like it came from a package. The cheese and chutney sandwich was the best, as chutney doesn't need to be fresh to taste great. The scones were dry. The eclairs were still frozen. I was the only person in the dining room. I appreciate that the restaurant can't be making a bunch of fresh food for just one person. Still, if afternoon tea is going to be offered, the restaurant should figure out what foods will taste good when made in advance.

The service was outstanding, and the atmosphere was lovely. However, the food left much to be desired. The fillings in the sandwiches lacked freshness, particularly the avocado, which tasted pre-packaged. The Cheese and Chutney sandwich stood out as the best option since chutney can still be delicious even if it isn’t fresh. Unfortunately, the scones were dry, and the eclairs seemed to be frozen. I was the only guest in the dining room, and while I understand that it can be challenging for a restaurant to prepare fresh food for just one person, when offering afternoon tea, they should consider what items hold up well when made in advance.

This is our 2nd attempt at a festive afternoon tea for 4 people and, although not as disastrous as our first time the festive element wasn 't there. Usual afternoon sandwiches, the cakes were uneven so we had to pick 1 o the other, yet we paid for 4 people, surely there should have been the same x4. The fire alarm went off as we were about to pay we couldn 't leave until we had paid after which we were pretty much thrown out safety did not come first. The service charge, although we didn 't mind paying it, surely they 're supposed to inform us it had been added. So no, won 't be going back even if it is so convenient for the train station.

We booked Afternoon Tea for 4 people including 1 gluten free. The gluten free had as many sandwiches just for them as 3 of us had to share. Sandwiches were lovely but not nearly enough to the point of being a joke. I have also never seen scones like the ones served. They looked more like Yorkshire puddings and were chewy. This was booked so they knew we were coming and we were the only ones in the restaurant. The cost was £24 per person. The hotel is beautiful and the staff were lovely and it was all served on gorgeous plates/cups etc. I would normally have said something at the time but it was for my mum's Birthday and she was loving the occasion and making a complaint would have spoilt thi...
