"We stopped by this restaurant after getting off the ferry. We received a very friendly welcome, even though we were just getting coffee. The couple running the place were friendly and took the time to chat with all the customers. It's also dog-friendly, which we always appreciate!"

A good menu, if you opt for the wraps be aware, the serving is huge but, they can box up what you can't manage. Nice sandy bay to stroll along. View menu

A great spot to get a tasty, filling lunch or snack (plenty of delicious looking cakes on offer) friendly and welcoming staff, and a small beach nearby to walk dogs. Please keep your dogs under control and be respectful of the resident hound!

"On our last day here, killing time before the ferry, decided to try luncheon here. No expectations either way. And we were TOTALLY wowed it was just excellent. Trying not to put too many superlatives in this review, but it was really, really ace. We had a lovely table by the window overlooking the harbour where you could see dog walkers, children in wellies, crabbing, and little boats coming and going. Classic Islay. Then I have to mention the food. Jeez, it was top notch, and huuuuuuuge portions. I don’t think we’ve ever had four such consistently generous and fulfilling portions before. We had the scallops (massive, juicy, plentiful , the Crofter’s Platter, which was cheeses, hams, sausage rolls, salad, bread, chutneys; the soup massive bowl, loadsa crispy sourdough bread, and the fish and chips which was so big it draped over the plate! All delicious. Our guy, Andrew, was superb, so attentive and smiley and always bringing us more things, spoons, drinks, more bread, spoons, he was great. And we had a lovely chat with the very friendly and nice proprietor. She was wonderful. Really seemed to care about the place and her team. She told us all about the hotel and stuff it was really cool. We will most certainly come back here next time. You can’t necessarily get the best table every time, but we won’t mind if we don’t! : Oh, also, lovely clean loos!"
