"Hugely disappointed at how much the Black Lion has gone downhill. We have been coming here for 2 years and have brought many friends and family for a Sunday Roast as in the past it has been the very best. It now seems that they are under new management and the service and quality of the food has dropped to a minimal standard. We brought our family for a roast expecting our usually lovely experience but were greeted with poor service, the wrong food being brought out, instructions ignored and a vodka and coke served in a pint of coke?! The food was disgusting...somewhat reminent of a school dinner, the meat thinly sliced and the gravy watery. The meal then ended with completely the wrong receipt being brought to the table with 5 extra items added. It's been a good run Black Lion but we will not be returning! Time to find a new roast!"

Best Sunday Roast in NW London!! I know it's a big statement but when you have had one to many awful tasteless roasts in your lifetime you tend to

We've been here a few times and think it's great. On top of great food and fabulous service, its worth a visit for the buildings original features alone.

We went to the Black Lion before a play at the Tricycle Theatre. The menu is interesting and you can see this pub is putting in the effort to provide good food.

Went with two friends to Black Lion, Kilburn, prior to matinee performance at The Tricycle Theatre. Never been before. I shall be back whenever I visit the Tricycle. And if I lived nearer Kilburn, I would become a regular. Excellent friendly service, well thought out menu, good food and outstanding value.

I love the Black Lion as a venue for meet ups and special occasions. The surroundings are beautiful as it is a listed building and the dining room is very cosy with lots of candle light. The food is excellent and service is amazing, nothing is too much trouble for the staff who are very helpful and polite.

Absolutely appalling , took my mother for mother 's day , group of 4 , waiters didn 't even acknowledge us , didn 't receive menus for ages , asked for water 5 times each time was told it 's on its way , so my pregnant girlfriend didn 't have a drink well over half an hour, service was a disgrace, food was mediocre , waited over an hour for it tho , meanwhile others who came in after us received Thiers first , then once finished , didn 't receive desert menus , when asked , the waiter said isn 't someone looking after you , and walked away dismissively , thus resulting in us getting up and leaving , even when paying the bill they didn 't come and pick it up until we were walking away, ruined...

I booked the Black Lion primarily because it is opposite the Tricycle Theatre and a friend and I were attending a show there. Having no idea what to expect we were delighted as the Black Lion is an old fashioned pub with a dining room and services bar meals. When I say old fashioned this includes the original features of the pub from the very early 19th century. I have never seen anything like this in situ and would recommend the venue for that reason alone. That said the menu was very good, as we enjoyed the pre-theatre menu, with soup and a delicious gnocchi for me, chicken for my friend, as well as a well priced bottle of wine. The service was excellent, attentive enough, without being ov...
