"So I had planned a last minute get away at 9pm from London to Wales with my wife and 4 kids, drove to Wales and got to Wales around 3.00am and after a long drive we stopped of at around 6 hotels all to find they were fully booked. We got to this lovely place to find it was also fully booked but the manager listened to our painful story and managed to squeeze us all into a 1 bedroom for the night and we was so pleased and very great full for the efforts this place went through to make arrangements for us at such a last minute and at such a weird time of night. The room we got was very nice and they even helped us with getting our kids ticked in and made sure we was ok before leaving to give us a good night sleep, the views were amazing when we woke up the next morning and they even let us sleep in to have a late check out and I just wanted to say thank you so much for helping us out that night, it was a while ago but I haven't forgot about the good deed you guys did that night. Rooms: 4 Service: 5 Location: 5 Hotel highlights: Great view, Quiet, Kid-friendly"

I haven't stayed at this restaurant, so I can't comment on the rooms. However, I had Sunday lunch here, and I must say it was delicious. It's a bit pricey, but it's a great place to go for a special occasion. Service: 4/5 Location: 4/5. View menu

Service not great, cups were not clean that our drinks were served in. Corners of lots of the tables were chipped. Disabled loo had no light and had a dirty towel on the floor, disappointing given the lovely location. Service: 2 Location: 3

I recently had lunch at this restaurant, and it was an excellent experience! The food was delicious, and the service was top-notch. I would rate the service a perfect 5 out of 5, and the location also deserves a 5 for its fantastic view. Highly recommend! View menu

Just spent two nights plus golf here with 22 other golfers. A fabulous experience. The staff were great, nothing was too much trouble for them. Lovely views from our rooms. Great sitting out areas from our bedroom The Winners bar was a great place to be in after golf and when there are so many of you. I would really recommend Bryn Meadows for a golfing weekend away Service: 5

It's a really scenic place great for weddings or parties. Nice golf course, but definitely some steep climbs. It's a really welcoming location, nice and polite staff the type of people where its not a problem for them. The only thing I would say is a negative is the meeting toom I've been to the carpet almost felt like a typical nightclub a bit sticky didn't really match the rest of the place! "Rating this under my cafe list since I separate restaurants, cafes and franchises. I gotta be honest this was pretty solid and a lucky find. It’s one of the few places I could find open on a Sunday in a town I’m not familiar with and everything was cooked perfectly I decided to go off the beaten track and order something weird and not exactly on the main menu and went with the pancakes, bacon and eggs. The only issue I had was you had to tell them you wanted the eggs and bacon and it’s not made super clear on the menu so I had to order them later and wait for them to arrive (it was definitely worth it though. Interior is colourful and pleasant enough, it’s cosy and it’s very clearly popular with the locals. But most importantly it’s comfortable and clean. It’s got your traditional cafe meals on there : breakfasts, coffee, ham and eggs and so on, But the menu was actually quite extensive beyond that with steaks, mixed grills, pork chops and even a build your own roast dinner section. It even included an actual picture of the dishes made in house rather than just using text or some generic online photos which somehow makes the whole menu more appealing. I wish I had taken a picture of the menu but there was a wait for tables and I didn’t think about it until I had left felt a bit daft going back in but it’s where I’ll be coming next time I end up in Bargoed for any reason."
