"We managed to get a late table on Saturday. However, after arriving we were shown to our table, we asked what non alcoholic spirits were available and was informed that they didn 't do any (strange , needless to say I had to have a soft drink. We asked another member of staff and she informed us that they did offer non alcoholic spirits, it was therefore clear that some of the junior staff were not aware of what the Bluebell offers. We ordered our meal, the starters arrived, the scallops were an insult to the price, there were four scallops on the plate, three were very small, i.e. the size of a twenty pence piece, one having been cut in half to make up the numbers, the fourth scallop was the size you would expect especially considering the price (may I suggest having three scallops that would present better than what was offered . The other starter which was prawn/salmon was an exceptionally large portion, fine for some but a little to large for a starter. We ordered a bottle of white wine and had to ask for a cooler as the wine was very warm. When the main courses came, I asked for my steak to be cooked bleu at best it was medium (how a chef doesn 't know how to cook a bleu steak is somewhat bizarre . However, the lamb that we ordered was so rare I don 't think it actually had been cooked, it was very fatty and chewy, this being a result of being under cooked. For desert, I ordered white mint chocolate ice cream, this was awful as it was very grainy which leads me to believe it may have started to defrost and then re frozen. Needless to say I didn 't eat it! From being seated to paying the bill, we were no longer than 45 minutes (we didn 't even have time to drink the wine and had to take half the bottle back home with us! We were given no time between courses to enjoy our evening out. The service overall was very poor, as at the end when we were paying the bill, we were asked very bluntly have we done ! Also at this point it was drawn to their attention how disappointed we were at the quality of the meal, the restaurant wasn 't busy, therefore the food should have been coming from the pass at a much higher standard as we have received in the past. Needless to say we were extremely disappointed and have agreed that we will not be returning. It is clear from the outside that the Bluebell is in need of some investment and perhaps maybe some more experienced staff front of house and in the kitchen. The meal cost £125.75 (for two people , given the fact that I didn 't eat the lamb or the desert, this was a rather expensive meal in 45 minutes. Word of caution, if you park in the disabled section at the front of the Bluebell, the rendering on the wall is falling away and therefore is a potential danger to patrons and their vehicle."

We visited The Bluebell for a casual pub meal and ended up enjoying a delicious gourmet dinner at a very reasonable price. The presentation of the food was exceptional and we were thoroughly impressed. Fantastic value for money!

A great country pub, with the choice of outside, pub or restaurant seating. Occasionally small events such as classic cars events, there is a good sized car park at the rear, great to walk to if you are local or not! If you haven’t been, you are missing a trick

The Bluebell is simply brilliant. We couldn't find a single fault. The young waitstaff were excellent and managed a very busy restaurant with ease. The food was top-notch, with my husband's steak cooked perfectly and my chicken with cream sauce was delicious. Thank you to everyone, highly recommend this place. 10/10.

I stopped in for a quick pint after walking my dog and instead enjoyed a delicious dish of salmon and prawns in a creamy wine sauce with a variety of vegetables. The food was freshly prepared and beautifully presented. The staff were delightful and accommodating, even finding a table that could fit my five-month-old puppy. I highly recommend this place.

We have been here at least 6 times in the last year or two and each time it has been excellent, so the negative reviews below are baffling to me. The food is lovely, there are several good beers and wines all at competitive prices. The meats and vegetables are will cooked, and the service is excellent. The whole place has a quality vibe to it. Highly recommended.

We had a lovely meal, meeting up with family, the starters were scallops black pudding on minted pea puree. Homemade fish cake, calamari soup all plates were cleaned! The rump of lamb with dauphinois potatoes was lovely, with a rich gravy fresh seasonal veg, cooked to perfection! Others had the special fillet, scampi belly pork. Puddings were lemon tart, chocolate fudge cake strawberry Prosecco cheesecake followed by coffees teas. Well worth a visit. The a la cart menu was much better than the menu on the website. The service was good staff friendly even though it was a busy Friday night

a wonderful evening. we were recommended for the weekend near and this restaurant was recommended by our hotel. we were not disappointed. that was nice, steak was divine and the bar staff was really friendly. a word of warning but, book a taxi for the way to home that we could not and could not get.) the team was so friendly, we had never felt that we had overtaken our greeting and the manager offered us a lift to the house over and over the call of duty! I would recommend the bluebell to anyone who loves great English cuisine in contemporary environment, the menu was varied and the chefs were great. we will definitely be back for more.

"we enjoyed another very pleasant dinner at the Dog’ in pentrich recently. it is a very civilized but relaxed escaping area, and the type of place where people are miles for, for the culinary experience traveling and with good ground. eating is good. the dining room is spacious, contemporary and beautifully furnished with a relaxed ambiente. also the adjacent bar area is very cozy and cozy. we were warmly welcomed and immediately shown on our table. the service was attentive and pleasant, without being overlaid or intrusive. our meals were very pleasant and we enjoyed the selection of things we had (start, head and dessert). However, it seemed to be some unconsistencies with a portion size. with the appetizers the leek and the potato portion was very small a piece laek about two centimeters long filled with cheese and in a sea of sauce to convey the grasp of “more”. the crispy szechuan cauliflower and aubergine, on the other hand, contained large parts of the two components of the teller. similar to the net, the green thai chicken contained three very large portions of huh in different shapes: a large chicken breast as the main component of the Thai chicken shell, accompanied by a huge serving of shredded chicken in rice, and a huge Bao beer filled with a large piece of baked chicken. while the various components were delicious, it was just chicken overload, almost like three main dishes as one, and much too much. the same applies to the puddings we have chosen. the dog inn trifle was a huge bowl with lemon-rossel sponge, with white chocolate-creuzard, and celestial gel and sorbet. the yorkshire rhubarb cheesecake, on the other hand, was a very small roll of cheesecake with a puppy game of rhubarb sorbet and a few pieces of poached rhubarb. our meals were certainly delicious, and we enjoyed them. the hanger steak was cooked nicely after a discussion about it; it was clearly stated on the menu that the hanger steak was ‘Served ‘Pink or well Done’, but we were informed that it could not be ordered well. which condition is then on the menu? the dog is worth looking. it is in the beautiful and historical village pentrich, on the b1016 between the towns ripley and alfreton in derbyshire. we're coming back."
