"We booked to go here for my sister's birthday. They called an hour before the booking to let us know that their bar tenders hadn't come into work and therefore they couldn't do the cocktails. I asked about their bottled drinks and mixers and they said they will still be served, just not the cocktails. When we arrived we were waiting for a minute or two before a host arrived to seat us. When we were seated we waited about 5 10 minutes before a waitress came to take our order we hadn't even been given the menu yet. Afterwards we asked if we could have the bottomless bubbles and we were told we couldn't have that option because of the shortage of bar staff but we were welcome to buy prosecco. I didn't really understand why, and also why we hadn't been told that before, even though I had asked about the drinks. Anyway, the food came, some of the order was wrong, and the food was okay but not worth the price. It was really quiet so no atmosphere at all. Just all round disappointing. Quite nice for some pictures, but that's about it. I doubt we'll return."

Waited 1 hour to be served drinks. Staff so unhelpful, overall service was atrocious. While there a few tables left. Very disappointing.

Had a booking for 21st birthday. They had no cocktails and extremely limited on everything else, we waited 20 mins and no one served us and the place was empty.

No cocktails when we got there, wouldn’t let us take our 25% student discount even though we had our cards. Automatically add a service charge. The food wasn’t great

Wow, what an amazing place! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was very pleasant. It exceeded our expectations. The cocktails and food were both wonderful, although a bit pricey for what we ordered. Overall, we really enjoyed our visit.

The cocktail selection is limited to just three options, and there's no lemonade available. If you're looking for a great backdrop for photos, this place is perfect. However, if you want a wider variety of food or drink choices, I would recommend going somewhere else.

absolutely terrible experience! it was for the reservation to lock doors. the restaurant had closed without telling anyone with bookings. a note remained on the door that they had closed due to cash flow problems. Thank God for the restaurant next door that has come and offered us a table on a busy Friday night.

We arrived for our reservation only to find the doors locked, and I hadn't been notified about any changes. I wouldn't even give this place a single star. We waited outside for ten minutes until one of the staff finally asked if we had a reservation. They explained that they had opened earlier but were closing due to administrative issues. I had planned this visit for my weekend, and if I had received any notifications, I would have booked somewhere else.

Waited half an hour for our booking although the restaurant was nearly completely empty we were told we couldn’t have cocktails but they were serving someone else them? The service was awful and even though there was no one in the restaurant we received no service. The toilets were disgusting and unclean and overall just a bad experience. My vodka lemonade tasted like just lemonade and the bar staff were rude about making a new one. Liverpool is so much better don’t waste your money here

Arrived to be told there’s only spirits available to order and was tried to be persuaded to go next door instead. We stool with our reservation as we’d come a long way and wanted to see what the fuss was about well… how disappointing the place was empty, had a strange dirty smell to it and the bar area was a mess. Some friends ordered vodka lime and soda, no idea what they got, definitely no vodka, maybe flat soda and no lime when we questioned it they added more vodka (probably watered down) and brought a bottle of lemon juice to the table lol! Staff were you and left to deal with the **** bless them! What a mess this place is definitely on its way out! Very disappointed to arrive that even...

"Alborz is a wonderful hidden gem in Levenshulme that serves a variety of Persian and Middle-Eastern food, located on Stockport Rd you could be forgiven for thinking that Alborz is as unassuming as it's humble exterior suggests. However, what lies behind those modest doors is truly fantastic restaurant both in terms of food and service. The interior is understated and tasteful, furnished with Persian vases and ornate tea sets, the tables are close together to make the most of the limited space available but this lends a refreshing communal atmosphere to your meal. The staff were friendly and attentive and more than happy to talk you through the menu and explain the various dishes. We ordered the Mezze Platter to start, this consists of four different starters, and is ideal if you're not overly familiar with Persian cuisine, the homemade hummus was a particular highlight being both fresh and tasty. We then ordered the Alborz special grill for two, which looks as wonderful as it tastes, succulent skewers of koobideh and chicken accompanied by grilled vegetables, saffron rice and a freshly baked taltoon bread which was frankly quite ridiculous in its magnificence and is so large it came supplied with its own stand. This was a true delight to eat and I can highly recommend it. After all of that, we were overloaded with food and couldn't possibly consider having dessert and so, asked for the bill, which led to true surprise of the evening, all of this wonderfully authentic and fresh food came to a grand total of £42. This reflects tremendous value in a time where a meal for two can often prove quite expensive. Overall I would say that Alborz is definitely worth visiting if you're in the area and if you're not well then it's worth making the trip for. If you're a fan of Persian food or perhaps want to try something new then you would genuinely struggle to find such a quality dining experience at this price point."

"I've been to a couple of different Dishoom branches a few times and have never been disappointed by the breakfast options. The sausage naan roll is excellent. A couple of really tasty vegan sausages with some melted vegan cheese all wrapped up in a lovely soft naan and served with some sort of sweet chilli dipping sauce. My go to now is usually the vegan Bombay. It's a good hearty breakfast plate with... a couple of the same well seasoned vegan sausages. Some vegan tofu akuri a nicely spiced tofu scramble. Some very well cooked mushroom slices (that are maybe a wee bit under seasoned). The baked beans are really nicely spiced, elevating them far beyond the standard sweet sauce fare that's the usual. A few slices of well flavoured black pudding (that could be fried to being a bit crispier). A cooked tomato which is a bit dull, I've never been keen on tomatoes on my breakfast plate and this once has not changed my mind. It could do with some more charring and maybe some spicing. To help you mop everything up, the whole thing is served with a couple of soft bread buns that have been nicely toasted. I usually top the whole thing off with some chocolate chai with oat milk you get free refills for your chai. Unfortunately, it isn't wheelchair accessible. There are stairs up into the restaurant and various small flights of stairs to get to different parts of the restaurant. Updated from previous review on 2024 03 25"
