"After finishing our yearly shopping at the Vieux Campeur and Quechua, we decided to drive to the centre of town and look for a cafe to have some lunch. We decided to try the Brasserie de Savoie. it was about 2pm so we were not sure we could still have anything to eat but we did. Some of us had the 14 euro three course menu with coffee and I chose to have an omelette instead. The three course menu was delicious with a mixed salad with ham and cheese followed by a large chunk of beef with a light pepper sauce. It came with Vichy carrots and sauted potatoes. For dessert there was a choice of fromage frais (similar to a creamy plain yoghurt) or fresh fruit salad or some local cheeses. The portions were very large and the presentation and service excellent. My ham and cheese omelette was creamy, soft in the middle and crispy on the outside. It came with loads of tasty chips and a green salad. My son had a steak hache-frites ( home made burger without the bread) and it was cooked to his taste (medium). Beer prices and pichet of local wines were very reasonable too. Overall it was an great experience and the staff was friendly and efficient. They do not speak much English but I had not been there to translate in French, I am sure it would not have been a problem to get served."

Very good, although not superbI had the terrine de fois gras, which was a little overpowered by the chutney and the choice of bread.

Good was over an hour late, apparently what we ordered wasn't available, but they forgot to tell us. When the food did arrive, it was tasteless.

super happy with the restaurant, and the waitress who's at the top! The fondue was a delight. so much that we even met a celebrity that was in the family sitting at us.

we had some local specialties and the food was tasty. not haute cuisine, but pleasant and service was quite fast . a pleasant surprise after 2 other restaurants at 145 pm had thrown us out .

We came late to noon over this brasserie and both enjoyed it very much. I had a beautiful goat cheese salad with lardons and a honey dressing, my husband chose Brevet. We all had a delicious ice cream desert and agreed that it was a super... lunch. The staff was friendly and funny, there was a lot to watch and the place was visited by locals who add more color to the scene. A very pleasant afternoon in the sun. Would highly recommend.

Upon arrival, it is recommended that a second service be scheduled at 9 p.m., at the opening of the 19-hour restaurant. In the snails, I suppose frozen because it's hard and rubbery. in the main dish, from the shrimp jellyfish. It was frozen shrimp without taste and hard. for the other main dish 2 small pieces of cans, too little to my taste. very disappointed with this restaurant, to avoid, knowing that in clusaz there is a very good table.

A brasserie is like a café-restaurant with more choices than a café and usually cheap and excellent French meals. If you go shopping in Sallanches (it is actually nice shopping in the pedestrian streets), the shops actually close at lunch time and it is a good time to head for a nice meal seating outside on the plaza while looking at typical French life going past.Small village ambiance but excellent food and very nice greeting. The service is good and, as other reviewers indicated it, the restaurant is a mere 5 minutes away from fantastic shops such as Le Vieux Campeur and Quechua which provide a lot of hiking and mountaineering equipment.Simply but nicely presented, the food is excellent an...
