"We have been going to Build-a-Burger for years because their buffalo chicken wings were absolutely amazing. I say were because we would never order them, or from here, again. We placed an order with them on JustEat. The delivery turned up and the wings were simply breaded with no sauce, completely different from the dozens of times we have gotten them before. They were also lesser quality chicken. Assuming a mistake had been made, we tried ringing but the line was cut so we drove over there to show them the 40 buffalo wings that were clearly not buffalo wings or what they usually sell. My friend went in with them and was greeted with confusion despite being told the issue. They took the wings through to the kitchen and came back after 15 minutes with newly cooked wings that were the exact same with no sauce again! My friend told them the issue again and the hostile chef came out to tell him that they always did them like this. I can assure you that Build-a-Burger have not and I think you need to Google buffalo wings . No apology, no offer of compensation, nothing except a terrible service. What they did do is send us on our way with these chicken wings with 8 polyester tubs of sauce, 6 hot and 2 BBQ, that we realised were all only quarter full when we got home and a tin of coke. Very strange experience, has Build-a-Burger changed ownership and all of their staff? Either way, we will not be back and we will be telling all our friends how badly downhill this place has went."

When I walked it they were a bit slow on the up take it took a while before a member of staff actually said have i been served. I ordered a ladder which I found out has 2 pieces of chicken breast and 3 pieces of beef, these slices of beef were thick not like the ones you get in other burger chains so I was totally full when I left.

My husband and I called here for lunch as we seen lots of ads online which looked lovely so we couldn’t wait to try, but we were extremely disappointed, the guy serving couldn’t remember what bread they did, couldn’t tell us what the sauces were, they didn’t do pulled pork even though it is advertised On there menu as well as two others dips, honey mustard and honey chilli and the food over all wasn’t much better as the chips went to bin, because they tasted like the oil hadn’t been changed in weeks.

I have been going to build a burger regularly for about 7 years and have always recommended to everyone their vegan bean burger as I found it to be the best veggie burger in Belfast. So disappointed they have decided to change the bean burger without warning to a mushy tasteless breaded 'bean ' burger. Didn 't realise this until my burger arrived and looked and tasted completely different. Obviously under new management who have decided to cut corners for a cheaper product. I won 't be back and I will miss the veggie burger

Been a huge fan of build a burger for years... As a vegetarian I've always been bowled over with how considerate the staff have been of vegetarian and vegan diets. Of late I've noticed a huge change in both the staff and quality of food. Visited a few days ago and went for the spicy bean burger my usual... Noticeably different burger tasted like a tesco frozen bean burger, toppings were all really cold which meant the whole burger was really cold and unappealing. Seems to have taken a dramatic downturn.. Very disappointing... Will be thinking twice before visiting again disappointing as I'd always championed this independent business

I have been getting food from here over the last few years and it was always good quality. However, over the last year, the quality has been awful. The last two burgers I have ordered (soya mince one) have been STONE COLD. The first time I put it down to the deliverer, however it seems they weren't the ones at fault. This burger I also ordered with an onion ring, which came raw and disgusting. The second I bought in store and tried to eat minutes after, but again STONE COLD. TO add to it, the store had barely anything in, so choices were very very limited, which sort of defeats the point of the place. Need to sort themselves out and get back to the quality that they were, or at least the bas...

"enjoyed our evening in james st it was the best culinary experience of our trip! we had been happy to see this evening as we had a few hit-N-seals in the course of our trip to belfast. we were not disappointed and had the fabulous evening. we were quickly welcomed and sitting. the place is beautiful and spacious. revitalized and environment. the bar is great and would like to come back, only for drinks at the bar sometime. we ordered cocktails immediately. an Irish gin negroni and a traditional old fashion. my neger was absolutely excellent. I think the old fashion could have been done with real sugar cubes and not sugar syrup, but it wasn't too bad. we were quick to choose our wein. we chose a beautiful juicy red, the cline, the old vine zinfandel, 2019. to begin we had the ham hock terrine with piccalilli champ bread and some scallops with boar bell. the hanging-hock court was the best ham-hock I had. the homemade piccalilli was something else. really nice crispy and sharp sharp to help cut through the hammock and the champbrot was delicious crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. the scallops and black bells were disappointing, as they lacked no salt or genuine aroma or texture between them. we still ate it and shared the rest of my hammock. we both decided to go for the co. tyrone 270g fillet steak with sides of champ and truffle parmesan chips. red wine and pfeffer sauce. they were fantastic steaks. Actually, I didn't think I would finish mine, but I did. I have met the right choice with the jus and the truffle chips. they went so well together, the dryness of the parmesan and sweet, slightly greasy of the jus. the steaks were perfectly cooked. a medium and my medium rare. fantastic aroma on the grilled outside of the steak and beautiful texture when they pierce. we both agreed that the champ was the best champ we ever cost. it was hot, soft, so well aromatized with hot butter on the top of the copper serving pot melt. it was really the most incredible champ. I was too full of dessert. but my sample ordered the sticky toffee pudding sundae. the team was friendly enough to make me an espresso martini that was both decaf and not a sugar syrup. it was brilliant. we both managed to work our way, although a surprisingly light sticky toast desserts on Sunday. the team was fantastic. very friendly and chatting to us. the bar team did not stop, I had the pleasure of standing and watching them make a great selection of drinks and cocktails. the waiting staff were also very friendly when they check in with us at comfortable places to ensure that we were in order. we felt very well looked around. the service was very good, we didn't feel any hurry, it felt like such a free time in this restaurant. when we come back to belfast, we will be back in absolute terms and we will definitely recommend others. Thank you."

"I'm an American. I was invited to work at the queen’s university in a global conference. my airline has moved my baggage, so I stopped in the barking dog to use her wlan to check the status of my baggage and have a drink and a snack with my associate who has unusual allergies. the menu had nothing to call us, so we have decided to finish and move only our drinks./ at no point has anyone informed that it is illegal to have only drinks, and our server ran our review without mentioning any legal requirements. After I paid, someone who I suspect, the manager, came to the table and checked our reception. exactly what I thought was what they said before they cheated on me how it is illegal to buy drinks in a restaurant without eating. I apologised and explained that I had no warning. I offered to buy food retroactive and they refused. then they repeated that I was in a restaurant and not in a pub and that my activities were illegal. they denied my multiple attempts to apologise me while I explained that I am not out of the opposite. this experience was very confusing for me, because the night before me had drinks in a restaurant without food and it was no problem. in any case I was told that there is no such law and that the ordering of drinks without eating in a restaurant is very common. I've never been treated so badly in a customer service dynamic and I'm not sure why this happened. I feel targeted and totally mistreated for what does not seem to be a good reason. To finish it, it was my birthday. complete error in the name of what this person was. I will say the rest of the staff was very pleasant and accommodating."
