"After a very rude and cold reception,I was ordered where to look at the menu stuck to the front of a display fridge I ordered Japchae. Only two Asian students eating on a Friday night at 8pm. Cash only! The back of my neck was freezing with a draught. This place has been here a while and could be a goldmine if only they upgraded. A very small dish of glass noodles came with carrot ,onion and mushroom so thinly sliced I had bother telling what they were and nut sized pieces of chicken. At nearly 8 quid it was expensive. I could have rustled it up at home for a quid. It was a very poor chow mein really. The place has 5 hygiene stars. I do nut know how? It is dark dingy, unloved and undecorated for years. Food was greasy. Been a while since I was here and will be a while before I am back."

I had a great experience at this restaurant. The food was delicious, and I would love to come back in the future to try something new.

The food was subpar, the service was poor, and the restaurant itself is in need of maintenance. I strongly advise against dining at this establishment.

Their bibimbap and stews (soft tofu, kimchi.. are the go to ones. They have the nicest bibimbap so far. The others dishes on the other hand were just okay.

I’ve been there three times so far, it’s just a really good and cheap Korean restaurant! The staff is adorable, and they make good coffees! I would definitely recommend that place. View menu

Love the authentic food and its vegetarian friendly. It will be so much better if atmosphere is lighten up e.g a little background music. Will be in my food list when I'm visiting Belfast again in near future.

I am not an expert when it comes to korean food but I have tried the very same dish I had here (Bulgogi) in another korean place in Duesseldorf and it was much better there. I just got a very simple dish with a lot of onions in it, nothing special. Service was cold and unfriendly. Owner did not make an effort to give any advice about the menu.

The food at this restaurant was delicious and affordably priced. The Korean fried chicken and budae jjigae (army stew) were flavorful, comforting, and satisfying. You order at the front desk, they only accept cash, and you pretty much handle everything else until you're done eating. The service is no-frills, but the food more than makes up for it. View menu

To be honest my husband fared better with his dumplings. My vegetarian fried rice kimchi dish was very stodgy and if I'd managed to even 1/4 finish it I'd not be able to walk down the street! It was £18 for 2 dishes plus 2 bottles of water so in my opinion quite dear. They also do not accept credit/debit cards so this is cash only. I thought this was not legal to do this.

This is one of the least known places in Belfast serving great Korean food. First, order their dumplings better than any Japanese gyoza. Next go for their seafood pancake brimming with prawns, squid, and mussels. Round it off with a bulgogi and rice (I had the beef) a sort of Korean beef bourguignon. Than pay the bill (cash only) and be prepared to be surprised by how little it is.

"enjoyed our evening in james st it was the best culinary experience of our trip! we had been happy to see this evening as we had a few hit-N-seals in the course of our trip to belfast. we were not disappointed and had the fabulous evening. we were quickly welcomed and sitting. the place is beautiful and spacious. revitalized and environment. the bar is great and would like to come back, only for drinks at the bar sometime. we ordered cocktails immediately. an Irish gin negroni and a traditional old fashion. my neger was absolutely excellent. I think the old fashion could have been done with real sugar cubes and not sugar syrup, but it wasn't too bad. we were quick to choose our wein. we chose a beautiful juicy red, the cline, the old vine zinfandel, 2019. to begin we had the ham hock terrine with piccalilli champ bread and some scallops with boar bell. the hanging-hock court was the best ham-hock I had. the homemade piccalilli was something else. really nice crispy and sharp sharp to help cut through the hammock and the champbrot was delicious crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. the scallops and black bells were disappointing, as they lacked no salt or genuine aroma or texture between them. we still ate it and shared the rest of my hammock. we both decided to go for the co. tyrone 270g fillet steak with sides of champ and truffle parmesan chips. red wine and pfeffer sauce. they were fantastic steaks. Actually, I didn't think I would finish mine, but I did. I have met the right choice with the jus and the truffle chips. they went so well together, the dryness of the parmesan and sweet, slightly greasy of the jus. the steaks were perfectly cooked. a medium and my medium rare. fantastic aroma on the grilled outside of the steak and beautiful texture when they pierce. we both agreed that the champ was the best champ we ever cost. it was hot, soft, so well aromatized with hot butter on the top of the copper serving pot melt. it was really the most incredible champ. I was too full of dessert. but my sample ordered the sticky toffee pudding sundae. the team was friendly enough to make me an espresso martini that was both decaf and not a sugar syrup. it was brilliant. we both managed to work our way, although a surprisingly light sticky toast desserts on Sunday. the team was fantastic. very friendly and chatting to us. the bar team did not stop, I had the pleasure of standing and watching them make a great selection of drinks and cocktails. the waiting staff were also very friendly when they check in with us at comfortable places to ensure that we were in order. we felt very well looked around. the service was very good, we didn't feel any hurry, it felt like such a free time in this restaurant. when we come back to belfast, we will be back in absolute terms and we will definitely recommend others. Thank you."
