"On a visit to Mittenwald, which we must say is a very attractive town, we came across this restaurant on our way back to the Railway station. By the sounds of the talk, it seems to be used by a lot of local people. We...asked for a menu in English, which was brought very quickly. We selected to have two beers and sandwiches on country bread, one with cheese and the other ham. They were accompanied by a small salad on the side. They were very tasty and good value, with plenty of ham cheese. Certainly one restaurant we would recommend."

We had a light lunch just a stew for my wife and a creamed potato soup for me. Both were delicious. They have great outside seating, too.

This is a great place to sit under some trees or inside and take it while enjoying a nice piece of cake and coffee while the world keeps on going. Relax. This why you travel. Very clean restrooms are inside and down some steps.

If you are only going to visit one cafe in Mittenwald, make it this one. The cakes are on display and the only difficulty one has is to make a choice. I had the Zwetschgendatschi which is a local speciality made with damsons. My husband...had the Haustorte which was divine. We saw the most amazing icecream dishes being served to the table next to us. View menu

We stopped in to the bier garden for a drink and to enjoy the ambience of this charming little town. The Haller was perfect because we could get a light meal and ice cream. We ordered our favorite Bavarian snack--Weiss wurst with sweet mustard and...a pretzel. They were out of pretzels but substituted brotchen instead. It was very good and the service was very friendly. The homemade ice cream was also delicious.

Right in the centre of Mittenwald, it has a good position for you to watch the world go by while sipping a cool Hacker Pschorr. Their selection of cakes and ice creams is fantastic and the service splendid. At lunchtime a bowl of Gulaschsuppe or...one of their baguettes will keep you going. Good prices and comfortable seating complete the picture. We've been going there every summer for the past few years and we'll be back next year for sure.

"we visited the market restaurant for the first time and tried to eat here every later visit. we were not always successful because we were not sufficiently reserved in advance. I have reserved for our lunch today, and it would seem that lunch is a little easier to get a reservation. when we entered into us, we spent our entire walk in our apartment and talked about every single court we had in our four-course lunch. everyone was spectacular. the chef combines ingredients, aromas, textures and even article temperatures in a way that I had rarely experienced. my wife and I live in the san francisco bay area, and there are several restaurants that are listed michelin, and some that have stars. none of our local places are these innovative when it comes to bringing together courts. during our current visit, we decided again for the four-course lunch. the small starter who came before these four curses was remarkably tasty and playful in his presentation. it was another example for the clever use of contrasting textures and aromen in the construction of aligned. from the four curses that followed, the cortex tars was our favorite, and a beautiful representation of what I say. I had bark tars in many restaurants and in several countries. I never had one that was as vague as the one in the market restaurant. Sometimes you hear a combination, say for example ahi tartare and shaved white chocolate, and you could say that this would never work, but you would be wrong. this court I had in paris was an eye opener. the tartaric acid on the market has a similar character. the bark was in a “cloth” based on buttermilk, and the mild killing of buttermilk was irritable with the bark. it had a senfeis upstairs! how could that work? we loved it. there was a crispy mustard crumb. on the side of the bark were small amounts of liquid lemon cured. there were so many things that went before themselves in a court, and if there are so many things, you fear that they will not intercept. that was not the case here. I thought it was just brilliant. we also enjoyed our other courses very much. everyone had similar clever and delicious elements. we had a wonderful lunch. I will say if they are on a budget and travel with the family, this cannot be the best for them. I don't eat like that every day. if they are looking for an extravagant, exquisite meal that will be the culinary highlight of their visit, then they will go to the market restaurant. my wife and I often eat out, and among the highly valued restaurants closer to home is a michelin three-star restaurant that we dine. if I would compare market restaurant with this restaurant, I would rather only have a meal in the market restaurant than ten meals in the three-star restaurant, and that would be true if they were all paid by someone. the service is professional, but unpretentious, attentive, but not intrusive. the courts are innovate, but work. it's just a great culinary experience. next time we visit the middle of the forest, we will be sure to visit the restaurant again. our meals were simply amazing. I hope they can try the restaurant and enjoy it as much as we do. it's a bit pampered, but I don't know a place in the san francisco bay area I'm excited about."
