the food was sub par, pasta was excessively salty and felt stale. restaurant was quite underoccupied and the server tried its best.

I ate here with my parents and kids ages and The food was good and the waiter very friendly. The service was slow but that’s because it seems all German restaurants are understaffed. The pizza was great, really enjoyed a homey Italian...meal

One word: amazing! This place is amazing! My risotto was simply delicious. The seafood in it was fresh tasting and really added to the overall enjoyment of the dish! My wife’s pizza was extremely good, especially the crust! We would definitely come back again and...again View menu

We had two dinners last week and loved the restuarant. The food was very good, we tasted many dishes as we were a big family. We appreciate the many gluten free options we had. Many thanks to Karin Bellini the host who was most friendly...and helpfull. Hope to come back again

We love Bavarian food, however during our week stay we decided to ring the changes and go Italian! We are so glad we found Da Mamma Lucia. Delicious Italian food with a great selection of wines. Our host was incredibly welcoming and made our...evening. A restaurant well worth a visit and a highlight of our stay in Mittenwald

The restaurant is a minute or so away from the centre, near the tourist office. The streets can be a bit confusing when you first arrive but this place is worth seeking out. We had the spaghetti vongole and salmon tagliatelle and both were delicious....The service was very friendly but as reviewed before, a little slow but it was absolutely fine as long as you're not in a big hurry. I would definitely go back to this restaurant View menu

we have tied an Italian food and read some good reviews. they wrote is now uncertain. al dente, does not mean uncooked, but this is how my pasta was, the bolognese was too sweet and too salty and the minenstrone soup was a dog dinner,...no borons, no ravages and no pasta, but last of Broccoli...shocks!... we will stick to Bavarian food from knowing on limoncelle as cheap. do they please her and do something else with her evening

I have never had such disgusting customer service anywhere in the world. After waiting hours for our main course with no apology or update from our waiter, we asked for the manager. Karin, the owner arrived and was so incredibly rude to us,...no apology but extremely defensive, asking why we didn’t come at Excuse me but she accepted our reservation at by phone. I was shocked at her attitude. Would not recommend this restaurant under any circumstance

"we visited the market restaurant for the first time and tried to eat here every later visit. we were not always successful because we were not sufficiently reserved in advance. I have reserved for our lunch today, and it would seem that lunch is a little easier to get a reservation. when we entered into us, we spent our entire walk in our apartment and talked about every single court we had in our four-course lunch. everyone was spectacular. the chef combines ingredients, aromas, textures and even article temperatures in a way that I had rarely experienced. my wife and I live in the san francisco bay area, and there are several restaurants that are listed michelin, and some that have stars. none of our local places are these innovative when it comes to bringing together courts. during our current visit, we decided again for the four-course lunch. the small starter who came before these four curses was remarkably tasty and playful in his presentation. it was another example for the clever use of contrasting textures and aromen in the construction of aligned. from the four curses that followed, the cortex tars was our favorite, and a beautiful representation of what I say. I had bark tars in many restaurants and in several countries. I never had one that was as vague as the one in the market restaurant. Sometimes you hear a combination, say for example ahi tartare and shaved white chocolate, and you could say that this would never work, but you would be wrong. this court I had in paris was an eye opener. the tartaric acid on the market has a similar character. the bark was in a “cloth” based on buttermilk, and the mild killing of buttermilk was irritable with the bark. it had a senfeis upstairs! how could that work? we loved it. there was a crispy mustard crumb. on the side of the bark were small amounts of liquid lemon cured. there were so many things that went before themselves in a court, and if there are so many things, you fear that they will not intercept. that was not the case here. I thought it was just brilliant. we also enjoyed our other courses very much. everyone had similar clever and delicious elements. we had a wonderful lunch. I will say if they are on a budget and travel with the family, this cannot be the best for them. I don't eat like that every day. if they are looking for an extravagant, exquisite meal that will be the culinary highlight of their visit, then they will go to the market restaurant. my wife and I often eat out, and among the highly valued restaurants closer to home is a michelin three-star restaurant that we dine. if I would compare market restaurant with this restaurant, I would rather only have a meal in the market restaurant than ten meals in the three-star restaurant, and that would be true if they were all paid by someone. the service is professional, but unpretentious, attentive, but not intrusive. the courts are innovate, but work. it's just a great culinary experience. next time we visit the middle of the forest, we will be sure to visit the restaurant again. our meals were simply amazing. I hope they can try the restaurant and enjoy it as much as we do. it's a bit pampered, but I don't know a place in the san francisco bay area I'm excited about."

"I admit to being biased. I live in the San Francisco Bay Area, and the options for German food are not as extensive as I would like, and I'm surprised that these days they haven't yet found a way to charge you for water and...cutlery. When I dine at a place like Postkeller, the value is just off the charts. There is almost a full menu of dinner options that cost less than an appetizer at some of the restaurants I visit back home. The portions at Postkeller are quite generous, and the food is very flavorful and delicious. And then there is the beer. Oh, the beer. In the San Francisco Bay area it is hard to find a taproom or brewpub where you can find a pint of draft craft beer for under often than not, you find a ounce pour of some beverage with odd fruit and spice flavors for At Postkeller you will have a wide range of beer choices for well under Euros for a half liter, and a number of options for under Euros. If you come between PM you can get a full liter of one of their beers for Euros. There are some good options to choose from. My wife and I went the other night. I tried two of their Edel Märzen beers. They were Euros each. My wife had the local Mittenwald Dunkel. Just terrific beers. My wife decided on a lighter meal, or so she thought. The omelette with mushrooms and cheese had to be at least three eggs. It came with potatoes and a side salad. This was under Euros. I had the Schweinshaxe (pork hock) with an extra salad. Those two items together were under Euros or less than at current exchange rates. You wouldn't be able to touch that price in the Bay Area. Places that do offer the dish back home don't produce a meal nearly as good. The total tab was under Euros. You are hard pressed to get two burritos and two agua frescas in the Bay Area for this amount. It is just a phenomenal value. I've spent over on dinners for two at home that weren't half as satisfying. There are many other restaurants in Mittenwald that serve similar food. I have been to quite a few of them. All of the ones I have tried serve excellent food at a similar price point, so if you are in the mood for traditional Bavarian food, you have many options. I will just say that all of them are excellent, and it is one of the reasons I have come to Mittenwald for over fifty years. I'm hoping I can make it over years."
