The lunchtime special menu at this restaurant is excellent. The portions are large and the food is delicious. The atmosphere is nice and relaxed, and it's good value for money.

Tried a couple of new dishes from the updated menu. We were not disappointed with the food as it was delicious. Everything was washed down with a bottle of the new Red House Wine. Overall a pleasant evening and superb food.

We ordered lasagne garlic bread for 12 people to collect on the day of a family birthday. It was absolutely delicious! Lasagne was really well filled. We were all very happy/ impressed. Will definitely use this restaurant more often.

Abysmal. Almost 4 hours for a 3 course meal. I understand making money but when you take in way more covers than you can manage you have to ask yourself if it’s worth the long term cost (12 adults at our table and none will be back). One waiter tried his utmost but it was a lost cause. It appeared that it was one (large) sitting and mains weren’t being served until all starters were done and the same with desserts. Either that or not enough crockery! Awful.

Very good food, and super selection. We were welcomed well on arrival, and my granddaughter aged 2 was well looked after. Front of house Staff need more training. Our waitress didn’t know the menu, and when the mains arrived there was an error on two dishes. This was quickly sorted, although there was a further mistake on the steaks one being med/rare, the other medium. We got rare and med rare. However, despite the mistake, the quality of the food was excellent. We will give them another visit.

We had booked this for Christmas dinner, I thought the food was nice and one staff member went above and beyond to try and fix everyone else’s mess, I thought the service was absolutely appalling, our kids starters were completely forgotten about. We waited an hour and a half between starters and our mains, bearing in mind we had young children with us, it was way too long a wait. I found the guy running the restaurant to be quite rude. I can completely appreciate Christmas Day might be quite stressful for restaurants but they took on way more customers than they could handle, wasn’t worth the money and we definitely won’t be back.

Had a lovely meal with friends on a Saturday Evening. We arrived on time and were seated promptly. The place was not overly busy and the staff were very friendly and attentive. There was not a long wait for the food to come out and when it did it was very good and cooked perfectly. We all had starters and main courses which everyone enjoyed. The only problem was with the sweet course. One person ordered cheesecake and another a French coffee. The cheesecake had gone rubbery and the coffee was cold. The waiter and waitress sorted the problem immediately so that was okay in the end. We all enjoyed our night at La Capagnola and will visit again.

Ok so you would think when I had to break out the quavers and wotsits for the kids, they’d get the hint and bring them their starters. But no, it was another hour before they had any food. Even then, there was no kids menus (I mean how hard is it to have some pizza in an Italian restaurant). So adult size and style of food it was. Seabass kids?? The surroundings were grotty and floor slippery. Like some previous reviews, only one waiter had some social awareness and was appropriately embarrassed. He tried, where he could to help. But the Management and senior staffs attitudes were awful and of course, we weren’t even asked how we found the food or experience. The mains were ok, the desserts...

Disappointing experience for Christmas dinner. The writing was on the wall when we ordered drinks only to find out that there were very few soft drinks available, including no lemonade. The food, which was actually decent overall, took quite long to be served but appreciate that can happen in a busy restaurant for Christmas dinner. Though, perhaps a gap of one hour is too long to wait between starter and main course and main course and dessert! Unfortunately the attitude of staff was poor at times; letting their stress and exasperation overspill into their engagement with customers.
