"I dont know, if people are aware, that this was the place where Nicolino di Camillo created the today woldwide common Pizza? Oh yeah, Pizza is old, at least a thousand years. But before second world war, Pizza was a kind of rectangular sliced cake...with some vegetables on it. And no. Its not originaly from Napoli, but from some hill areas of the Abruzzi in Italy, also the origin of Nicolino. And by the way. Nicolino also designed that delivery box, that is used now worldwide by almost any Pizza delivery. Nicolino was recognised and received the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic as well as the Order of Merit of the Republik of Germany. The new owners did not have the original Pizza Capri the one of Nicolino anymore in the menu..Therefore I asked for it to be prepared for the records (pictures) But nobody of our group wanted to eat it. So this time I settled for my other Italian favourite: Frutti di Mare mixto.(Perfect, could not be better) Others had antipasti (great assorted and well balanced) classic Pizza (whatever that means, but it was fine) Only the sardines should be crispy, not soggy. . ."

Great pizza, giant salads, and excellent seafood pasta. Portions are large enough to share. A little neighborhood place where you see the same diners again and again

This is the oldest pizzeria in Germany. We eat here several times every visit to Wuerzburg. The calzone is my favorite. There is nothing like sitting out under the umbrella with friends and family and enjoying a wonderful pizza.

Down a unlit narrow alley, is Capri Blaeu Grotte. In the dark it looks uninviting, but we tried it anyway. We were very pleased with the great Italian style pizza. We each had a small size pizza. They are the very thin crust, like you...get in Italy. If you are away from home and missing your favorite pizza, you should try this place.

It is seldom to find a restaurant with the best atmosphere, best food and best price all in one but in the Capri Blaue Grotte you'll find them all. Been coming back to Würzburg since years but this was the first time I came...to the oldest Pizzeria in town and I'm glad I did. The blue lighted room in a nicely decorated underground dining area has a special flair that one has to experience it. View menu

We chanced upon this cosy Italian restaurant with a cool blue basement to boot! It also happens to be it's anniversary since Mar We were in luck to enjoy their pizza lower price offer together with a free champagne Presecco? Only for We ordered different pizzas and a pasta. They were really delicious. One of the best pizza we had so far in our weeks across Germany. If you can, ask for seats in the basement. You will love the cool blue cave-like setting. Would be great for couples date Yes, the staff speaks English and very friendly too. Pricing wise is reasonable. Enjoyed our meal and time in the cosy place!

We had picked this place up from Lonely Planet and it was time for some Italian. Capri opened in and is famous as Germany's oldest Italian restaurant and for its pizza. It was a beautiful warm night so we sat outside and enjoyed the...atmosphere. After we ordered the waitress asked if we would like to see the Blue Grotto, I thought she was kidding. But no, inside we go and down the stairs to the basement and there is a full replica room of Capri's Blue Grotto. It's the room they use when the weather is not so kind. Now that's something different. We decided to go with the fresh pasta while most of the other guests were having pizza. Great food, friendly service,a lovely Pinot Grigio and loca...
