Hot food, freshly-cooked, quick service, quality and quantity very good. Very reasonably -priced. What more could you ask for! Highly recommended!

Haven't been in the Castle for years went to a christen yesterday 04/02/2024 they did the bar only carling no draught bitter the lager wasn't very good at £5 a pint should have been spot on rip off

Excellent Sunday roast lunch for 3 generations of our family, all of whom loved the meal. Very friendly and efficient service, large portions of great quality food and pleasant surroundings. Visiting from the US and will definitely be back when we’re next in the area. View menu

We popped in here for lunch on a recommendation from a family member. Absolutely no complaints! In fact, we complemented the chef on probably the best starters we’ve ever had. Really delicious food and a nice quiet English pub with an open fire. We’ll definitely visit again!

We went to the Castle for a Valentines night meal as our usual restaurant was fully booked. We had a great evening, the food was very nice and the service excellent. It's a shame the place was quiet as it should have been full given it was February 14th. If we don't give places like this a try they will disappear. Go on give it a try and judge for yourself, you might be surprised, we were!

Went for Sunday lunch, very disappointed food seemed to be reheated roast potatoes were rock hard like they had been standing in oil and microwaved. Vegetables were over cooked meat had a tang, felt as if the whole lot was old and just bunged in the microwave. Place has had wood panelling painted to a poor standard whole place looked in need of some TLC. When my husband explained why we had left our meals the barmaid offered no solution so we left and sadly will not be returning. It’s a shame as this used to be quite a nice restaurant. View menu

Went for lunch with husband and Dad. We were greeted by a lovely lady who served us our beverages. We noted from our last visit that the restaurant had been decorated which made the place look much more inviting and brighter. We ate from the lunch menu and had starters and mains which were very reasonably priced at £10.40 per person. For starters we had tarragon mushrooms, chicken tenders and sticky belly pork and for mains we had the chilli sizzlers and fish and chips, every meal was hot, great portion sizes and well cooked. We will definitely be back NB: we had eaten here before under the old management and the meals were terrible and we hadn’t been back for 5 years.

Go there all time as couldn't fault until tonight. Not enough staff on or trained in hospitality. Ordered food didn't have ingredients. Reordered something else when came wasn't what was ordered on 2 of meals out of 3 and couldn't eat as was overcooked. I've had same meal several times before and was amazing. Don't know what's happened. You would have thought the time had of with covid staff would have been trained how to work in the environment. Won't recommend anymore. When messaged direct about this the message was read and no reply no sorry no nothing. Worst £50 ever spent and won't be returning. Used to be a cracking pub with amazing food but all that has now gone out the window. I can...

Member of our party found red sauce on her food, when there was no red sauce on table, felt like she had been given someone else 's leftovers, made her feel physically sick!!. Young barman took food away saying he would 'scrape it off '. Told him needed to see management, as that was not acceptable, but no person came, no apology, had to ask again and again to see the management, whole complaint was treated as an inconvenience, offer of free starter to compensate, but we had no issues with starters. Eventually, meal given free but still no apology. Final explanation was that chef dropped sauce on her meal whilst serving other food so why was it not dealt with if they knew the sauce had dropp...
