"We've been coming to Chamkila for years. The service is always friendly and the kind waiter, most helpful. I fail to understand some of the poor reviews. The food is honest, Indian cuisine, authentic but adjusted slightly for Western palates, at a fair price. Their plain nan bread cooked in the tandoori is both light and tasty. As was my spicy Madras curry yesterday evening, tender and bordering nicely on but stopping short of too hot. Try their onion bharji very crispy and the accompanying sauces, tasty."
