Cheers American Sportsbar & Grill

As American burgers in Germany go it was OK. I had the blue cheese burger and poms (fries). The fries were better than I had expected.

Ribs and a beer never disappoint. Good atmosphere,service and weather. This spot is ideally located to watch time go by. The staff are friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is engaging,energetic and lively.

I visited this venue after doing a google search of resarants near my hotel. This is a sports bar and was a nice friendly place to get a well cooked burger and fries, the beer was good to! I would recommend this place.

I used to take a beer and some burger or ribs here everytime I was at Jena, but last time, they closed too early pm), even when it was announced in the door that closing time was am. Two times we try to...go for a late beer, two times they told us that they are closing. Not nice.

Whenever I visit my best friend in Jena we go to this place and it's fantastic! The food is great, especially the sandwiches and burgers, and the house beer is worth trying as well. Occasionally there are live screening of major American sports events, but...sky sports with the Bundesliga is usually on all the time. Its a great place to meet friends in a cool atmosphere in most scenic area in Jena with lots of restaurants around... :D

Nice bar to go for a beer. But forget the food. Chicken wings are ok but nothing special. Ribs are waste of the food. First time: the ribs where cold. Second time temperature was ok. But just one rack with very little meat as a...main course? Come on! Baked beans are actually white beans in tomato sauce. Fries cold and not crispy. Cole slaw has been sitting in the paper cup for a while an has a carton taste to it... And this is probably the only American bar in the world where credit cards are not accepted...

If you are craving some good American style food, such as fries, burgers and steaks, I can highly recommend this place. Decorated in lots of US memorabilia, such as sports photos, collectibles and always live viewings on the screens, you will feel as if in...a proper American sports bar. Even if you are not into sports (like me), you can enjoy the cheerful atmosphere and the hearty food. I always love the fries, which are perfectly spiced with just enough salt and paprika, as well as the oven potato with cheese on top. Special Tip: try the new pulled pork burger.

This is NOT the Cheers we all know from TV. The hamburger was awful. The fries were good. We were expecting the American food we are used to and it wasn't that at all. I think it is what the owners think is American but...really isn't. It is decorated like an American sports bar with TV's and sports paraphernalia everywhere, but other than that, I would not say this is an American Sports Bar Grill at all. On the plus size, we were able to get in without a wait. We originally were trying to go to the Stilbruch up the road but they just told us to come back later. We aren't drinkers but it probably is a nice place to gather for drinks. That is what many other customers seemed to be doing.

I cannot rave about Cheers enough. Although I have a natural distaste for theme bars, it's really great. First arrived trying to find some WiFi in an internet-free summer for organisation and just kept coming back. Great selection of sports shown, a fab drinks menu...and GREAT food. The burgers are top and the sweet potato fries are a particular favourite of mine. Some of the staff can be a bit slow to serve, but others are really fantastic and will recognise you as a regular after a couple of visits. Unfortunately for my wallet I'm a student just across the street, so I'm there often and if you want just a damned good meal and the chance to watch football, grab a beer, and see lots of yello...
