"the best restaurant I was already a dae in bristol. (as I said I had eaten for 2 days at wetherspoon) by joking, this steakhouse is near the st. nichola's market. very easy to find, only climb the st nicholas steps and it is just ahead of them. cozy atmosphere, most tables are for 2 people, there is a series of round tables for larger parties. but do not drink at the bar. 2 in 1 drink and food card, many choices. friendly, attentive staff, offers help in choosing steak drinks. I went for an 8oz ribeye steak in medium rare with fries and an additional part spinat and mushroom. I had the home brauhand beer, which is very refreshing with a hauch of zitrus y. the most juicy and tenderest steak I had lately. great texture, melt in the mouth. the mix of spinach and mushroom sauce is amazing and should consider to supplement the sauce. it's very good with the steak. around the evening I decided to make the chocolate and banana cake. it was a good choice, because the cake texture is exactly right, not too dense. it didn't clog me and the sweet one is well controlled. all in all a great meal, the only small disappointment was that the beer was listed as 3/4 pint on the menu, with my slight decay of concentration, I rose up to sell in a full pint and the total cost for the meal went over the touchless limit."

Had a lovely meal here with a colleague. We opted for the Chateaubriand and it was absolutely delicious! It also comes with 2 sides and 2 fries so was actually really good value. Very good service and a lovely atmosphere, would definitely return!

this food is incredible, the steak was so delicious and cooked for perfection. the makrele pate starter and mushroom side were so delicious. I'm so sad that I don't get any closer to eat here all the time. when they are in bristol, they must visit and eat in this restaurant.

The food was excellent, especially the steak. Although mine was slightly overcooked (it was still rare, just not as rare as my father and brother's), I decided not to send it back and they kindly gave me the price of my dessert cocktail as compensation. Overall, it was a fantastic birthday meal.

The dining experience was okay. The cocktails and calamari starter were delicious. However, a few minor issues prevented me from giving it a 5-star rating. Our table was wobbly, which is not something I would expect at a fine dining establishment. Additionally, I found the steaks to be overly seasoned and salty. View menu

Been there several times with friends and family. I have had the burgers, which are amazing and all the sort of steaks they sell. My favourite cuts are rib-eye and chateaubriand. Their meat is so tender, juicy, tasty. Their house brew pale ale is also a perfect companion for your steak. Beside, everything is reasonably priced! By far the best steak place in Bristol!

the first time at chomp and I enjoyed it here definitiw. we came to dinner on Tuesday and the place was mostly full. we had some cocktails to start with and the special burgers for our pornstar. both were great, but the cocktails are a little expensive. the special gorgonzola burgers were excellent, and the portion size was just right. we have to come back to try the steak!

During my visit to the restaurant, my friend saw my old fashioned cocktail being made at the bar while I was in the bathroom. The bartender took great pride in his work, which was evident in the quality of the drink. The black pudding beignets were especially delicious and were the standout item on the table. Despite also enjoying perfectly cooked burger mains and a samurai beef starter, I would only recommend the latter if you enjoy the combination of soy, chive, and ginger flavors. However, if you find yourself at this restaurant, make sure to try the beignets. They perfectly balance warm, melting black pudding with a lightly crunchy batter, topped with a complimentary sauce that is moist... View menu

"Visited here in Sept 23 for an executive dinner that we were hosting for various senior business leaders. We booked out the whole venue, which was the perfect size and atmosphere for the intimate and exclusive feel that we wanted, plus a convenient location. The TV that shows into the kitchen was fascinating, and the record player was put to use towards the end of the evening! Caroline from the venue helped us organise the event in advance and was great to deal with. We were fortunate with the weather so were able to enjoy a welcome drinks reception out the front of the venue, and have the door open all evening to let the balmy night in. We had the 7 course taster menu and it was simply OUTSTANDING so many of our guests commented on how delicious it was, particularly the beef steak course! It was so tasty that I even enjoyed the fish dish (not usual for me! . Service on the night was exemplary, the courses were brought out at just the right intervals so you weren't waiting ages but also not being rushed. The chef came out to greet us after the final course, which was a lovely touch and meant we could thank him. Overall, we had really great feedback from our guests, everyone loved it thank you for making our event such a success! We would definitely book again, and I know a few of our guests have already recommended it to their own companies for executive dinners! Would not hesitate to recommend."
