"Been here 3/4 times. Experience is pretty much always the same. The three stars are for the view. It is in a beautiful location. However, when we went in we waited at the door for a while with lots of waitresses walking past. We were not acknowledged or told to sit anywhere (I had to go up to the bar and ask). Once we had had sat down the service was initially okay, although if we wanted more drinks or more food, I had to keep getting up to try to find the waitress. It was not busy at all, but because we were sat in the conservatory the servers were not coming in and out very much. The food was disappointing. The menu is extremely limited and overpriced for what it is. I had the burger which was very over cooked. Chips were also quite tasteless. There was not much else to choose from. It is in such a beautiful location that it’s real a shame more money isn’t invested into the food and service."

We had an afternoon meal and breakfast because of an event we were attending in the evening. Both meals were excellent and the service was attentive.

Great location and I have enjoyed quite a few lunches here this winter spring. I really appreciate the fact that outside seating is always available and care is still taken re covid. Lunches are delicious, generous portions, good value and all the staff are unfailingly pleasant and helpful.

£7.00 for a tomato and rocket salad in a small bowl, I was told they had no butternut squash (included on the menu) but that they could still make me a very nice salad.......well I'm sorry to say it wasn't! It was absolute daylight robbery and wasn't enough to feed a sparrow! Very very disappointing!

Went on Sunday for lunch and had the roast beef. The vegetables were plentiful and really tasty but the roast potatoes were anaemic looking and quite hard and the beef was overcooked and had gristle around the edges. Such a shame as the restaurant is located in a beautiful spot overlooking the river.

I stopped in for lunch while walking along the river. The service was friendly, the food selection was good, and I enjoyed the fish and chips, chicken wings with a generous portion, and the cauliflower alternative with blue cheese. The sandwich was also very filling. Overall, it was a great lunch with beautiful views of the river.

The restaurant offers a wonderful view of the river, and the service is attentive and impeccable. However, the quality of the food could be improved. It was disappointing to be served burnt toast with both the soup and mushroom starters in a restaurant of this caliber. Additionally, the chips were served with salt crystals still attached, which is not ideal for those looking to reduce their salt intake. It is easier to add salt to a dish if desired, but once it is added, it cannot be removed.

I recently enjoyed a wonderful Sunday lunch at this restaurant, so I decided to bring my friends here to celebrate a birthday. The starter was good, but I was disappointed with the steak I paid extra for. It was covered in a large pile of rocket and mushrooms, and while it was tender, it wasn't worth the high price. The chips were tasty, but the Pavlova dessert didn't taste homemade and lacked a nice sticky middle. It was too large and had too much hard meringue. Overall, I won't be returning to this restaurant.

We stayed overnight, so are able to judge both evening meal and breakfast. We shared some dipping bread and olives which was lovely, my partner had the salmon and I had the burger, both were delicious, my only comment on the burger would be a small bowl of coleslaw and gherkins would have made it even more enjoyable. Breakfast was also lovely, clearly high quality ingredients are used , my only constructive criticism is that the full English consisted of 1 sausage, 1 egg, 1 bacon rasher, half a mushroom, half a tomato, half a portion of black pudding and a small quantity of beans, which is a little on the stingy side.

"BEST VEGAN RESTAURANT IN THE UK I visited based on previous reviews and the basis that they offered a tailored menu for my wife who has a Gluten allergy and an oil intolerance along with being a Vegan yep its a tough one. I called in advance and specified the dietary requirements for my wife and upon arriving at the restaurant were greeted by Amber who gave us a custom made menu from the chef which we didn’t expect. Awesome. My wife ordered the Buddha Bowl and I ordered the Lamb Souvlaki based on the recommendation from James who works at the bakery (we visited for coffee before the meal) and both dishes were absolutely delicious. The food arrived quickly and the serving was more than generous compared to any other Vegan restaurant I’ve been to and the choice of dishes is monster compared to other Vegan restaurants so there really is something for everyone. The only downside was that I couldn’t finish the sticky toffee pudding with custard and had to share with my wife!!! I never normally struggle with deserts! Overall, the staff (Amber and Alice) were super attentive and very knowledgeable about the food on the menu and the restaurant is by far the best for value for money and choice. We travelled over an hour to eat here and will be revisiting again to sample the rest of the menu. I was curious to read the negative reviews left here, but have put that down to stupid customers who probably aren’t Vegan and review fast food establishments like McDonalds shocking! Keep up the great work."
