"It was not the restaurant of our first choice, that was closed. We wanted a salad suitable for vegetarians. The waitress was shocked by our denomination, it seemed. Fish? No. No fish???. She walked away. Then it took another waiter 10 minutes to ask about drinks. Another 5 before we had the impeccable wine. And another 10 before we got our water. But,and that made the whole experience fascinating: we were served much faster then all the others. It was fully booked and there was no one really having an oversight or taking the lead. We had two good salads, two reasanoble deserts and had to wait a bit before we could pay. But it was fun seeing this comedy being played out around us."

Very nice server, but the boss is really not commercial and far from being pleasant!

We ate great. The only hic is that the tables of two touch almost and privacy is somewhat limited.

It was very good, a little long service despite the little world. A lot of choice on the map is pleasant.

Interesting table with quality products, good work. The cellar is very heteroclite with accessible wines. I recommend. Spirits are also honored.

The service is very slow, not many interactions except for regulars, there is a very large wine cellar but no red wine in 50cL. The meal was good, the meat was very tender, but the broccoli was frozen.

the chef is an absolutely magic. I loved the way he prepared the seabass. absolutely stunning, with a few hidden surprises to lift the expedition to a higher level. as an appetizer I had a thunfischtar who was delicious and made me curious about the main course.

As a local, I have to rank this restaurant as No1 in Bar le Duc. As we travel half of the time and, thus have wonderful opportunities to taste the food in the large array of eating establishments, we still find this one to be exceptional. French to the core in its décor, wine bar set-up, wine selection, and pre-fixed dinner offers, it presents a great value. Where else can you find a white cloth table with unique chef dishes, and three course meal for 20 euros?

"We wanted to go walking along Lac du Der, which is a giant reservoir and the largest artificial lake in Europe, so looked for a decent restaurant for lunch nearby and found this Bistro in the Michelin Red Guide. It was a 90 minute drive from where we are staying near Epernay, but it was worth the effort as the restaurant was absolutely perfect. It is tiny, in an old renovated epicerie, and everything is cooked in-house, something that has been getting rarer in France, to the point where the government is trying to force restaurants to show what is inhouse and what is brought in and reheated ... not a bad idea in itself, but sadly they have allowed too many loopholes. It is irrelevant here as the Chef's commitment to his craft is obvious. We took their daily lunch menu for €34, not inexpensive, but worth every euro.A cold soup of chicken, crab and pea to start which, while sounding slightly bizarre, was mouth-watering delicious and a main of slow-cooked oven roasted pork served with puree and green beans was excellent, as was the dessert of diced fresh fruit, custard and brittle. All wonderful fresh ingredients perfectly cooked and presented.A good wine list (including a goodly number of half bottle selections) varied enough for all tastes and budgets. Service was excellent, friendly and efficient and they were very welcoming not only of us but also of our 2 small dogs ... who do have a lot of restaurant experience :-)I cannot believe the review below from the Belgian who went away hungry, as all our courses were more than generous, and we definitely did not leave hungry, and cannot understand how anyone could. However, this place is about how great is the food and I would have still been pleased even with smaller quantities. This bistro is well worth a visit. The food is creative, interesting and a serious cut above nearly every one of the restaurants we have tried in our time in the Marne. I would love to have them move nearer to Bordeaux as we would become serious regulars."
