"My family go to church on Leonhardstrasse, so we tried the restaurant for breakfast. I cant comment on anything else, but given the proximity to the city centre, its worth a 10 min tram ride for breakfast. It is great, CHF 20 a head, and our young children were free which they should be (they shared a bread roll.....).Everything I want was there, ie english style bacon, fresh made scrambled egg, good coffee (from a machine, but for me thats a plus,) very good cheese plus all the normal stuff (sliced meats, cereals, fruit etc etc).Mainly it really stands out as exceptional value for money in Zurich."

Breakfast is really good. A huge variety, juices, cereals, breads meats, cheese, jams eggs, bacon and great coffee and tea. There is a bar for later and a range of meals and snacks available. The service is very good, so good that if you leave your table to get a piece of tosst, you may well find your coffee has been cleared away!

The majority took the burger with fries. The meat was perfectly cooked, slightly rosa in the middle, the fries were good. I can only recommend it.The others took the daily lunch menu and were quite happy with it. The staff was friendly, the service was fast. It is still Zürich prices, but at this location it is quite reasonable. View menu

We just had dinner then and it was really nice. My husband had a local swiss dish with a name so complicated i cannot even remember, which was good, and i had a blue cheese risotto with apricots and cherry tomatoes that was absolutely delicious! The strawberry-based dessert was algo very good and fresh. We might be back soon! Prices are within the swiss standards i believe

My partner and I were staying in the Hotel Leoneck, and didn't want to wander out to the city that night so decided to go to the on-site restaurant (Restaurant 8001.) We ordered two Weissbier and fondue. This came to 72.50 CHF, which is expensive but not especially so by Swiss standards. The beers were cold and refreshing, and the fondue was amazing and filling. For these reasons we didn't mind the rather inflated price and went back to the room feeling full and content.

"This is my fav Italian joint in Zurich. La Famiglia Tremonte is a small, family run cafe-restaurant that serves excellent and authentic Italian food at prices that are low compared to the norm in Zurich.Famiglia Tremonte is rather inconspicuously located at the corner of Zurlindenstrasse and Birmensdorferstrasse, a couple of doors away from The Desperado Mexican Restaurant. You might need to look for it a little: I lived practically next door and did not notice it for almost a year, and even then a friend had to point it out to me.The restaurant is mostly a takeout with very little seating, i.e. 7 people inside, and when the weather is goo, about 5 people outside. The ambience is basic but, like most things in Switzerland, the interiors are very clean. Staff and service are very goo. The food here is awesome! Authentic Italian fare that is probably heavily influenced by Sicilian tradition since that is where the family is from. I used to visit almost every day because the food tastes great and the prices are so low for Zurich. I have tried almost everything: several pasta dishes, polpettine, stuffed bell peppers, meatloaf, piadina, and of course, the fabulously tasty and hot chilli infused EVOO. I enjoyed every dish I ordered. Great stuff! I strongly recommend the super-hot chilli infused EVOO as a seasoning for almost all dishes, but especially the pasta dishes that come in a cream sauce. Please be careful with chilli EVOO: 0.5 tbsp. for noobs, and a max. of 2 tbsp. for those who like it hot. The chilli EVOO, when used appropriately, adds great flavour to your dish. The piadina is the best I have eaten - period. I have been all over the world, spent a lot of time in Italy and New York (: great place for Italian food lovers :), and I still think this is the best piadina ever. They also serve some nice Italian desserts -- I've tried a few but have forgotten the names. They also have a small selection of Italian ingredients for sale. I bought the pesto and was happy with it. You also get a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic Italian drinks to go with the food.Prices are relatively low by Zurich standards: I rarely ever ate for more than CHF 15, and if I skipped the drinks it was usually around CHF 10. Of course, this varies a bit according to what you order.Highly recommended. Glad I found this place. Great for office workers in the vicinity."
