"Three of us have been coming to the splendidly located Crown Hotel in Colne for over twenty years. It is a couple of minutes walk from the Preston to Colne local service, and there is a bus stop literally outside the front door. The hotel has been the premier place to stay in Colne since the railway brought tourists to Colne in the days of Queen Victoria. Our booking was made last year -2023, we heard that it had changed hands since we were last there in 2023. During the times we had been going the daily bed and breakfast rate remained remarkably little changed. We were welcomed by Vicky and we were told that the daily rate had changed. Two of our group could be accommodated in en suite rooms. Head Chef Steve was excellent, his full English breakfasts set you up for the day. He is a man with local knowledge which came in useful when our departure trains to Preston were cancelled. We understand that the Crown has been taken over by a brewery chain. The location is exceptional and the stone building with limited parking at the side only needs someone of vision to appreciate the hotel’s potential and restore the hotel to the community hub it has been in the recent past. Roast dinners are available as well as pub fare. We do hope to be able to return to The Crown in the not too distant future. As they do say on the website it is useful to ring ahead to determine what it the art of the possible."

It would appear that if your not slim and blond you can not work here. Not only do they walk away from you. But they have a mobile phone in their hands. And also. Vape before they serve you if your face fit awful place for a pint

Terrible service Was going for Sunday lunch but after watching other people getting served didn’t bother! Party of 6 served staggered over 15 minutes and then the last person was served a jet black burnt chicken burger Roast dinner looked tiny and cold

I found this hotel very disappointing the standard of cleanlinesswas way below expectations and certainly not covid clean.Nothing much done here since the 1970's. Dirty staircarpet, lamps not working, crockery not clean, stains on the paintwork, dusty, smelly old pub. Sorry, desperately understaffed staff trying hard. View menu

Having been taken over a short while ago we called in for Sunday Lunch. The service was first class. The Sunday Lunch was the best I have had, absolutely top drawer ourselves and another table couldn’t finish the whole dish. The beef was cooked to perfection and sliced nice and thick. We will be making this a regular and have no hesitation recommending it. Like anything else, support local businesses 150 out of 100

Great pub/hotel right at the bottom of colne high Street. We didn't pay much so expected not much but a great time was had. Very clean basic rooms, adequate breakfast at nothing really to complain about. It is what it is. Do yourself a favor and have a cheap night away, it's cold dark and miserable so a quick visit to somewhere like this will put a smile back on your face. Many thanks to everyone, keep up the good work

Visited as a family of 5 on Easter Sunday dinner time. Nobody else in the dining room/restaurant side, it was very quiet and without atmosphere. We asked.to turntje music on which the young waitress happily obliged to. Food was lovely we had viking gammon, fish and chips, hot roast beef sandwich, chicken and friends. Great sized meals, good value with gorgeous homemade chips. Service was a little slow, we had to ask for menus etc but overall a lovely meal. View menu

This used to be our Local and favourite Pub in Colne but since Noel Peter left it’s gone downhill fast! The food is no where near the standard it was and service is shocking, only one original bar staff left that knows how to pull a decent pint and the others are just kids spending more time on mobile phones than actually doing anything! The Ladies toilets are disgraceful and need updating and in general it’s in a poor tired state needs a good publican couple and some TLC !

Booked in for Sunday roast. Staff welcoming and friendly. Well stocked bar. Menu is varied and reasonably priced. We order the roast and it was beef or pork or you could have both meats! Portion size was good as was presentation. We were blown away by how good it was, meat cooked to perfection and couldn't fault any of it. The food is very much improved from when we last dined here as its now under new management. This place will become a regular go to place and we offer our support to the staff and their hard work getting the place back on its feet! See you soon. From Angie and Steve
