"Lovely old 1600s pub nice food and beer, originally built as a house, well worth a visit. The current landlord has made a model of Lord Nelson's HMS Victory which is on display behind the bar (the landlord got feed up of cleaning the ship and so made a display cabinet to house it). There is an electric industrial lever switch on a board (in photo) that was used to turn on and off the power supply to the LINPAC factory across the river from the Crown and Mitre. There is also a wood lathe that the landlord used before the factory closed. The ferry is still in use today from across the river and calls at the Pub next door. There is much to see in the Crown Mitre. Good ales also."

My favourite pub in King's Lynn. Nice selection of beers and, when the nights are a bit lighter, I like to sit in the conservatory looking at the sun set over the river.

we had a nice house cooked meal up. fantastic location on the river. I wish they had opened a little earlier. Maybe it's a bit of a hurry to go to the theater, even though the waitress asked if we were. beautiful waitress. great search, great prizes.

four of us visited again today after we visited the fen rivers way of st. germans. great beer, nice eating and excellent service. What else could they ask for? if they eat on the look for a traditional pub with excellent real ales and good quality, then the krone and more of the place to go.

Beautiful little pub hidden away on the Kings Lynn docks. Being a free house it expresses itself in ways that the big corporate pubs (Wetherspoon) can’t. The beer was good, the landlord a character (a proper landlord) and the food was exceptional. A hidden gem and well worth the money in these times. View menu

A small group of us called in for lunch on a cold wet day whilst visiting the town. The main area is a veritable museum of nautical objects complemented with other interesting and unusual objects of interest on walls, shelves and ceilings. The light lunch we ordered, homemade soup and beautifully presented sandwiches was delicious. We all enjoyed our visit.

I accidentally discovered this beautiful pub. I asked for my usual drink of a muddy water. had a good laugh with the barman as he said he would get it out of the river. the food was delicious, the view from above was amazing down at the river. service I could not ask for better. the memory of the pub was fascinating. a very welcoming pub for a young woman on her own, was made to feel right away. I'll go back to kings lynn next time. many thanks for a beautiful end to a perfect day.

"We had pre-booked a table for 6 people to have lunch at 2:15pm. We arrived on time and were shown to the table, which had only been set for 4 people which meant we had to pull a further 2 chairs up to the table, and had to request a wine list. We ordered a round of drinks for the table which took c. 15 minutes to arrive. We were waiting a considerable amount of time for a food menu. Eventually we called a waiter over to order some food and were told that the kitchen we no longer serving, despite having booked a table for lunch and not being warned of the kitchen closing time. The staff told us to be quick in ordering however took a further 10 minutes to come and take the order. The food eventually came and the waitress didn 't even put the food at the correct place, she merely put them on the table for us to distribute accordingly. When the bill eventually came, we politely requested the *optional service charge was removed from the bill as we did not feel that we had received adequate service to warrant a tip, to which the manager began shouting that it as shocking that we wanted to rightfully remove the tip. He went on to say that the kitchen staff had stayed over time to prepare our food. My question to the owner is this... if your chefs are unwilling to work over their hours, why are you offering a reservation close to closing time whilst your staff are incapable of processing the orders to the kitchens in the correct timescale and working hours. If we were told that the kitchen were closing soon, we would have cooperated with the staff to help them work to their time scales."
