"26 Stowell St, Newcastle upon Tyne NE1 4XQ Word of mouth has it that this is perhaps the best Japanese Restaurant you can find in Newcastle. My cousin brought me here, and boy, truly was the food delicious. We chose the Set Meals as it proved to be bang for buck. -Grilled Salmon Teriyaki set with Salmon Belly Sashimi -Stir Fried Beef set with Assorted Sashimi The Sashimi was fresh and delicious, while the stir-fried beef was out of the world. Worth every penny spent here."

Food is delicious staff are friendly, the decor is quirky and fun and compared to other establishments the price is very reasonable. By far my favourite restaurant in town. Too bad they close Wednesday's as that's when I'm most often free to go. My kids also love this place.

We found this place by chance and I was thrilled by the music. We had a wide selection of different items from the menu and everything was amazing! The Mochi in the end was delicious. We recommend to eat this place very and be adventurous and try many different items from the menu.

This is probably the best and most authentic Japanese restaurant I've ever visited. I absolutely loved the decor, and the food was incredible! I can't find a single fault with it! We tried the takoyaki, pork roast, teriyaki chicken with rice, crab ray sushi, and a beef bentobox. I highly recommend this place! View menu

An awesome Japanese restaurant run by Japanese. I was surprised by this ice bowl for serving sashimi which you often only found in a top level restaurant. Food generally tastes good with a very reasonable price. I would come back again given there's a chance to visit Newcastle. There's no service charge but the staffs are very hospitable. There's also a large selection on the menu.

Absolutely the best sushi I've ever had! I would rate the Lachs Nigiri a perfect 10/10, the Kranky Salmon Roll also gets a 10/10, as does the Prawn Tempura Roll, the Salmon and Cheese Roll, and the Rainbow Roll. I can't recommend this place enough to anyone who loves sushi! I’ve been here before and will definitely keep coming back. The staff is incredibly helpful and friendly. I just wish I had a bigger appetite to try even more dishes!

"The place seems unprofessionally run. The staff all look like they could do with a bath. No overalls are worn and their clothes are all of the type that many would wear to lounge around the house in . Several have longer hair and beards but don’t wear any kitchen p.p.e. The decor is shabby and I wondered what kind of hygiene rating they would have. Although not busy, the staff seemed to be disorganised, falling over eachother and lacking in training. They seemed to handle the food in an inexperienced, clumsy fashion. The only tool I saw being used was a pizza peel for taking the pizza in and out of the oven. On all other occasions the food was handled. I didn’t notice any hand washing or alcohol gel in evidence. The menu is quite limited and uninspiring. 2 of the 6 pizza choices include chicken which Italians would argue is definite no no! All pizzas are reheated to order which eliminates the possibility of customisation. I don’t believe the restaurant would stand out in many European countries, as pizza in general is of a much higher standard than that in the UK. In spite of the above, The basic pizza is excellent in taste (even though it is all re-heated). And for this reason it is worth a visit. Compared to other uk pizza restaurants which are typically serving absolute garbage, the food is way out in front. If you can tolerate the negatives I’m sure you won’t be disappointed with the pizza. However with a bit of effort, this place could be transformed into something truly amazing."
