"On our first weekend back from Barcelona, you would think that we'd go off in search of another cuisine other than Catalan or Spanish. But one Sunday morning, we wanted to go out for lunch at a place we hadn't tried before (ok, that was my requirement), a place where we could relax over a nice meal, a place that wasn't too far away from home. We planned on heading to Chiswick and I remembered The Duke of Sussex, a pub next door to Le Vacherin . Their menu was always dotted with Spanish dishes, triggering my interest every time I passed it. And now I'd have my chance to try it! We arrived at the pub just past noon that Sunday and it was a good thing too as we didn't have a booking (it got...read more"

Popular, big garden and an excellent, Spanish inspired menu. Plus good range of beers and wines. What's not to like?

live here and have eaten many paints. never had a bad meal and all our family loved it there. great to offer standard powder menu with authentic Spanish, friendly staff and good service. real ales and a decent pub not only a gastro-pub. large garden also.

The dining room has a very high ceiling, looking out on to a garden at the back. There is a wooden floor and a mix of conventional wooden chairs and leather banquettes. The menu is modern British, with a few Spanish options in addition. The wine list is f

I myself and a friend were in the pub I've been having for seven years. we went to 1 o'clock and had a few pints each hour or so as well as some food to 7 o'clock came the manager nikola and told us to move from our table as they needed for quiz night, we were patrons since 1 o'clock and refused to move because there was no reservation sign and we were comfortable where we were. she was rude and quarreling as she spoke to us. 10 minutes later a random customer comes by asking us to move that show that this manager clearly discuss matters with other girls, we explain to the random man, we are here spent for 6 hours money and are comfortable where to...Read more

the feeling and the general mood was beautiful. that was great. unfortunately it was only about the beautiful place. After I had squeezed myself from the table, I let my wife go to the toilet when I passed the kitchen service hat/area/ counter, I looked through the empty kitchen to see what can only be described as a complete and complete hellhole of a kitchen. everything was covered with thick dust and fat. the food counters were pulverized in raw meat, and there were blood on the many attacks. After I had leaned through the gap, I could smell an unworldly aroma that I can only imagine that it was moldy, dirt and excretion. will never return and have...read more

6th November 2014 The Duke of Sussex is a Chiswick pub from the Victorian era, serving Spanish food as well as a few more conventional pub dishes. The main dining room is attractive, with a large skylight and a view over the garden. The little kitchen is open to the dining room in one corner. The sourdough bread here is made from scratch in the kitchen, and this particular loaf had just come out of the oven. It had a pleasing hint of acidity and good texture (15/20). If they can make their own bread in the tiny kitchen here, it is ludicrous for kitchens such as that at the flagship Gordon Ramsay restaurant to claim they have to buy their own bread because of space constraints....read more
