"We frequently visit this restaurant for Sunday lunch because, in my opinion, it is the best around. The quality and variety of food options are excellent, and the menu changes regularly. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable, especially when it comes to catering to my gluten-free needs as a coeliac. The setting is beautiful, with lovely views. I highly recommend this restaurant."

The service was a bit slow, the food was average overall, but I was disappointed with my pork loin as it was very fatty and not what I had anticipated.

The food was first class with an absolutely delicious Cheddar cheese and leek soufflé. Thus was followed by haddock and chunky chips with mushy peas…. outstanding.

The restaurant was cold which put me off straight away …. We were sat next to a window which made it even worse ….. please in future look after your customers and put the heating on !!!

Great family meal at The Duke of Wellington this evening. Always great food but sometimes service can be very slow. Not this time, service was excellent and contributed to a lovely evening. Never been disappointed with the food here, excellent choice and excellent quality. Great beer and a good choice of wines.

Beautifully located with stunning views, nice choice of menu. We were there at a quieter time so we had plenty of space. A few mistakes with orders but these were quickly resolved. Our main gripe, those of us that got the Duke Burger found the Mustard Mayo to be very very heavy on the mustard, which spoilt an otherwise delicious meal.

The service at this restaurant was excellent from start to finish. The waiter and waitress were very attentive and the food was delicious. I started with the goats cheese panacotta and then had the sea bream, both of which were fantastic. Unfortunately, I was too full to try dessert but I will definitely be returning to this restaurant.

"I was lucky enough to visit The Feathers in December 2016 for the wedding of some of our dearest friends. It was foggy and cold which all added to the cosiness and charm of the place. The pub has two rooms with wood burning fires in each, the bar is in between and accessible from both. Inside it's cosy and traditional. This place has been here for centuries and the history seeps out of the walls. The four cask ales are mostly local. There were a couple of Mordue beers on when we were here Workie Ticket being a favourite and a couple from a bit further away, all nice. The star of the place is the food however. As this was a wedding reception the food was delivered in tasting bowls (there wasn't enough space to seat everyone for a traditional meal) one course at a time. So much great food! A winter salad with poached pear, caramelised walnut and blue cheese was a revelation. The mussels excellent and the rarebit appetiser so perfectly done. The mains were wonderful too. Winter veg mash with huge hunks of beef in rich gravy, aromatic and moist kedigree, spelt risotto and a unique game sauerkraut with bockwurst. Then came the desserts! Local creme brulee (Burnt Northumberian Cream on the menu) was stunning, as was the sponge, the mince pie inspired tart and the mountain of cheese. If you're a foodie you'll love this place. Just try and get a reservation first!"
