"I really wanted to like the impressively boastful Harissa Spiced Roasted Cauliflower, Smoked Almonds, Red Onions and Garlic . At £9.50 £2 for 4 and a half olives extra , I was delivered a round piece of bread with the barest coating of tomato sauce, the tiniest microcosms of cauliflower I 'd ever seen, Spartan bits of almond, really thin and really few onion slices and zero taste of garlic. The dough, especially the outer fluffed crust was not cooked all the way, resulting in a sloppy pizza. Despite my instructions to ensure it was crispy . I ended up roasting the pizza over a gas stove to get the required crispiness and added some of my own toppings. The raw thick crust was discarded. I did not fancy stuffing it down my throat and let it clog my intestines. It all looks great on the internet where you see ariel shots of an attractive big hunk of pizza. Reality is quite something else. Now, the scary part is that this was among the better pizzas I 've had in Edinburgh. And I 've tried at least 6 pizza joints this month alone. I marvel at how profitable a pizza business can be in the UK given that 's it 's just badly cooked bread with sparse toppings. How do people relish such ordinary food?!? I don 't think there are any easy answers to this and frankly, after this evening 's experience, I 'll stick to a well made toastie panini which is way ahead in quality, taste and ingredients at half the price I paid this evening. The exception to the National Pizza Scam is the refreshingly different 'Baked Pizza ' in Glasgow that 's priced wisely and possibly makes the best pizza bread in Scotland. But reason also is that they don 't make the highly overrated 'neapolitan pizza ' which is what I had today. I was hoping a good pizza experience from East Pizza would reset my opinion on the previous bad ones, I 've suffered through. Alas, it turned out to be the last straw. For now, I 'll stick with a crisp, roasted focaccia bread panini toastie, with proper salted butter and stuffed generously."
