"My husband and I were staying nearby and needed a gluten free friendly place to eat as I am a Ceoliac. The food is clearly indicated what is gluten free on the menu (this is ALWAYS a winner! I had a burger and it was delicious. My husband had the chicken supreme (also gf and that was 10/10. We liked the food and the vibe of the place so much we booked a table for the next day for Sunday dinner. We ordered the beef roast and honestly it was the best roast dinner I’ve ever eaten out at. Most places don’t even do GF gravy or the potatoes are coated in flour. But the New inn did it all including homemade Yorkshire puddings! Can’t comment on the deserts as we were just too full but they looked delicious. Lastly, the staff were super friendly. We got chatting to the waitress who told us she is the taster for all things GF and dairy free as she has Chrons and she was telling us how important it is to ensure it’s an allergy safe place to eat. Which is the assurance any person with an allergy wants to hear and even the awareness of cross contamination! All pubs need to take note of this! We would be back here in a heartbeat when we are in the area again."

"We arent big fish n chips eaters, maybe a couple of times each month .... and we were even less so after trying the fish and chip shops here in our nearest town. adequate ... ish .. but a couple of years ago we were in Okehampton at one of the larger supermarkets and afterwards we called at Kempley 's Catch for a takeaway... what lovely fish and chips they are ... the staff are always pleasant and usually we are greeted with a hello Gail from behind the mask and our order is waiting for us ... lovely people and lovely food ... So now it has become a regular trip up to Okehampton from the Launceston area to visit the supermarket and afterwards call at Kempley 's Catch.."

"Bittersweet! For takeaways, 10/10, 100% recommend! For dining in, I would not recommend I'm afraid. It becomes unbearably hot and uncomfortable to the point you just can't eat. It'd been so long since we dined in, we'd forgotten this aspect. When food came, things were wrong, but that was okay, mistakes happen, but then our bill was also incorrect. It was handwritten and ineligible. We needed to split it, so we used the menu to add up our choices, and each rounded up to make sure a tip was left, but once everyone had paid, we were still short. When questioned, they became quite frustrated and weren't willing to help to see where we/they may have made a mistake, so that was disappointing. They did tend to take drink orders, which didn't arrive, so perhaps it was the missing drinks that were added? Or the wrong food? It just became a stressful evening that had othwrwise been lovely, so, no, I would not recommend eating in, but I absolutely recommend them for their takeaways, one of the best Indians I've ever experienced!"

"After hearing positive reviews and making a reservation, we were excited to enjoy a nice dinner with friends. Unfortunately, our experience was quite the opposite. We were seated at the bar next to a large, noisy group and felt largely ignored throughout the evening. It took 40 minutes for someone to take our food order, and due to the commotion at the next table, the waiter misheard what I had requested. We weren't offered any desserts, and ultimately, we had to approach the bar to pay our bill, as it seemed we would have been waiting indefinitely otherwise. There was no apology for the subpar service, which left us feeling really disappointed."

"We arranged to have a roast with friends at this restaurant today, but upon arrival, we were informed that there were no roast potatoes available, only chips or mash. We were further disappointed to find out that all the roasts had been sold out, despite our pre-booking. I managed to order the last vegetarian option, but my friends had to settle for burgers, one of which was burnt and the other had unappetizing lettuce. When my dish finally arrived after nearly an hour of waiting, the broccoli and peas were extremely overcooked. The food was so subpar that we left the restaurant still feeling hungry. The fish and chips were overly greasy and went unfinished. If you are looking for a satisfying meal and good service, I would recommend avoiding this establishment."
