"Following recommendations we went for coffee and cakes with my husband. There is a kind of antiques shop as you enter and then you can see the cafe at the back. It was 15:30 when we arrived and there were not many cakes left. The cakes we tried we ok and the coffee was nice. However, there were a lot of boxes stuff by the back door which it makes the place look very untidy. It didn’t make us feel that the place was clean so not sure I would be back."

Tucked away behind an antique shop is this delightful cafe serving all homemade food. Well worth a visit if you're in the Lake District.

Called into Staveley to see if we could find a café. This is a very unusual place as it is at the back of an antique shop. The propietor was very accommodating.

We came in after a wet walk and found it difficult to choose from the delicious lunch menu. We all loved our meals, with the cheese scones, soup, and dhal being particular highlights.

Popped in today for a quick bite to eat and a coffee. Husband had the mushroom soup and I had the rarebit. Both were absolutely delicious! We will be back very soon! Highly recommended! View menu

lovely little cafe in Staveley with a French vibe. Fantastic lentil Dahl, cheese scones, soup and cakes. Just around the corner from Staveley Mill Yard, so make a detour and try the Dahl!

Called here yesterday en route to Windermere. The café is at the back, after passing through the front shop, and goes back a long way. More of a tardis than a tearoom! Great coffee, great tea, great cake. Say no more!

We had lunch here during the folk weekend. It was fairly busy, but service was good, friendly and efficient. We had the cauliflower and almond soup with a cheese scone and it was delicious. The scone was one of the tastiest I have had. View menu

The food is really lovely here. We have tried many things on the menu and even more cakes on the counter, but the Dahl is really brilliant!Served with Naan bread, Chutney of Mango and Cream Agria is perfection on a plate. The only disappointing thing is that if you get there after everything's gone!

A rather fun place a cross between a curiosity shop and a cafe. The staff are most welcoming and considerate. we had just walked from Bowness and were in real need of sustenance. Coffee was good and the meals tasty and substantial. I had the Aga cooked Camembert with honey topping and my wife enjoyed the quiche and salad. Thank you all.

"We were sure to book ahead for a table of 4 for 5.15 as it was a late Sunday roast we were fully aware that not everything would be available so it was no surprise when we were told that there was only gammon left for the roast option however there was still fish and chips homemade steak pie or vegetable lasagne. We happily opted for 3 gammon roast dinners and a homemade steak pie with mash (you get the choice of which potato you'd like) The food arrived piping hot with plenty of everything and it was so so tasty you could really tell everything was lovingly made from scratch for the roast the potatoes came both roasted and mashed with cauliflower, broccoli and carrot and swede mash. A generous helping of gammon and a large Yorkshire pudding with gravy that was clearly made with the juices as it was so flavourful. The steak pie was brilliant too homemade with large chunks of steak and a choice of potato and whether you'd like the same veg as that with the roast or with peas. This also came with gravy. For dessert there was a choice of either chocolate fudge cake, caramel apple pie or sticky toffee pudding and you had the choice of either cream, ice cream or custard. 2 of us got it with custard and 2 of us got it with ice cream and it wasn't overbearingly sweet it was perfect with a delicious caramel top! We all thoroughly enjoyed all the food and the drinks and service and will be back again one day if we find ourselves holidaying here again"
