"I wouldn't recommend trying to book a table online at Ed's Diner in Peterborough, as the restaurant informed us that they don't receive online reservations and don't expect them. However, they were never too busy to accommodate us, and the dining experience is consistently enjoyable. It's a great value if you sign up for their email notifications, as they send out weekly offers that include 40% off food, and you can also get a free burger or hot dog when you download their app. Additionally, there are other promotions available."

Very expensive fast food. Food and location was not bad, but far to expensive for a fast food.

I made a reservation for Father's Day breakfast, but when we arrived, the restaurant was closed. It was a complete waste of our trip, and we received no notification of the closure. My two children were left very disappointed and upset.

I always enjoy breakfast here. The staff in Peterborough are very friendly. I've already booked breakfast and dinner again soon. Unfortunately, they ran out of candy last weekend when I ordered pancakes, which is my favorite, but the breakfast was still delicious.

we have booked a table and confirmed that we showed up and told workers we had not booked and said we had to wait an hour, we sat near a hot window, no air conditioning had two children with me, we were sitting 10 minutes without even being served a drink, so we stayed very poor

I always love visiting this restaurant for breakfast. The staff at the Peterborough location are really friendly. I've already made reservations for both breakfast and dinner soon. It's just unfortunate that they ran out of pancakes last weekend, which are my favorite, but the rest of the breakfast was still delicious! View menu

I made a reservation and received confirmation, but when we arrived, the staff claimed we hadn't booked a table and told us we would have to wait an hour. We were seated by a hot window with no air conditioning, and I had two children with me. After sitting there for 10 minutes without even being served a drink, we decided to leave. It was a very disappointing experience.

Don’t try booking online for the Peterborough Ed’s Diner because the restaurant said they don’t even see the booking, they don’t receive them, so they aren’t expecting you. Saying that, they’ve never been so busy that they couldn’t give us a table and the food is always nice. It’s good value if you sign up for the emails because you get 40% off food offers every week. And you get a free burger or hotdog when you download the app. There’s other offers too.

"We hadn 't been here for many years and have been reluctant to try it more recently since it changed hands, and we 'd heard some devious reviews. However, we decided to try it for an anniversary meal, close to home. Pleased we didn 't listen to the reviews. The food was lovely, decent portions and very tasty. The service was excellent. We hate to be rushed, so when we finished our starter (a large antipasti sharing platter! we needed a bit of a breather and so asked for some time. We were listened to and given a decent break between courses. Everything we asked for was provided promptly and staff were all very friendly. We even got a surprise 'happy anniversary ' dessert with a candle, which was a lovely thoughtful touch. A couple of small things could have improved the experience a little. The atmosphere was lacking, but I this was largely as a result of so few people being there. Sadly, I think people have listened to the reviews, so for a Saturday night, it was dead. This isn 't the restaurant 's fault though. The background music wasn 't quite right for a Saturday evening in 'Italy '. And the toilets are passed their best and need to be better maintained, and stocked with toilet paper. We 'd really like to see this local business do well and hope they 'll work on the things that can be fairly easily improved and that local people will return here. We really enjoyed our first child-free meal out for many weeks and will return perhaps for a lunchtime treat with the children in the coming weeks."

"The Yard Castor is an outdoor restaurant that is connected to the main pub The Chubby Castor. They provide outdoor seating during the summer and a small indoor seating area in case of unfavorable weather. From the moment you are greeted by the staff, you are treated to a five-star dining experience and the staff were exceptional. The Yard places a strong emphasis on sustainability. They take great interest in the origin, sourcing, and ethical considerations of the ingredients they utilize with a guiding principle that food is health. They exclusively use seasonal fruits, vegetables, and meats. You can see a wide variety of fresh produce growing in their garden, which makes up about 70% of their produce. The remaining 30% comes from reliable and environmentally responsible partners. We visited on a Sunday afternoon for lunch when it was not too crowded, and I must say, it was one of the finest roasts I have had in quite some time. Accompanied by two companions, I started with the individually priced Rock Oysters, which were served fresh on a bed of ice. One of my companions opted for the BBQ Pork Belly, which was so delectable that we decided to order another serving. It was cooked to perfection and elegantly presented on a small plate, garnished with sesame seeds. The main event was the Roast Sirloin, roast potatoes, carrots, greens, Yorkshire pudding with a side of Truffle Cauliflower Cheese. My roast was cooked to a perfect medium rare. Although there was a slight delay in receiving our food, it was understandable as the Head Chef was personally overseeing the preparation of each dish. The attention to detail and care that went into crafting our meal was evident in every delectable bite. For dessert, I went for Rhubarb Frangipane Tart which was delightful. It achieved a perfect balance of sweetness and tartness. The combination of flavors was harmonious, and the texture was moist and satisfying. My companion opted for the Chocolate Mousse, which featured several unexpected ingredients such as honeycomb, popping candy garnish, thyme and a balsamic glaze. The combination of these elements resulted in a delightful symphony of flavors that complemented each other exceptionally well. The culinary offerings at this esteemed establishment, nestled amidst the picturesque countryside in a charming village, are simply beyond words. For those seeking an exceptional fine dining experience, this restaurant stands as a beacon of excellence, showcasing locally sourced produce transformed into exquisite dishes with meticulous attention to every detail. The staff, highly trained and exceptionally courteous, go above and beyond to ensure an unparalleled dining experience. Without a doubt, this establishment has set a new standard for Sunday Roast, surpassing all previous encounters I have had. It will be a formidable challenge to find another establishment that can match the extraordinary level of The Yard."
