Eight Over Eight - Menu

Lovely evening at E and O. Food was delicious. Great ambiance as always. Very reasonably priced.

The food was amazing and the service was excellent - a significant improvement since my last visit 6 weeks ago.

My friend and I both became very sick from the food at this restaurant. They also charged us for items we did not order. Despite mentioning it in my reservation, they did not acknowledge my friend's birthday, which we were there to celebrate.

It used to be much better. It was a Sunday night so maybe that’s why a bit empty but the food is not as great as it used to be(comparing to Notting hill branch 5 years ago) we ordered the wagyu beef but came a bit tough, not what you would expect from Wagyu!

Food was amazing, particularly the tuna tataki. Went to 8over8 many times in the past and loved it but towards the end it became a bit of a ghost of its former self with the food not really being worth the cost. Whilst the prices have more or less remained the same the food is amazing and the service was great, reinventing itself as e&o seems to have been the right decision. Hope it stays that way! E&O used to serve fantastic pan Asian cuisine, but the quality has dropped a lot since the re-opening. The tempura was soggy and a few of the other dishes were bland. Sushi/ sashimi has disappeared from the menu, which is a shame as well. We will probably give it another (last? go in a few months, to see if things have improved. Service was great and the team accepted our comments on the food in the right way.

My experience at E&O was fantastic, everything from the level of service to the food was at the top level. The prawn toast on the specials was unbelievable and something that needs to be on the menu full time. When we finished our meal our waitress reserved a seat at the bar for after our dinner, which was a nice touch. The meal was reasonably priced the only thing that makes the “experience” expensive is the cocktails but that is to be expected in London with £12/14 cocktails bottled beer is £4 which is standard too. We are already planning to visit again.

If you want to have excellent dim sum with appalling service I highly recommend. The restaurant and bar are lovely and have a great atmosphere and the food was delicious. The reason why the service was so poor was because we were charged for a bottle of wine we didn't purchase and when we asked the staff to refund the amount they ended up charging 2 more of our guests extra instead of refunding it. When we addressed this we were accused of lying when we provided proof by receipt to show we had been charged again in error. After lots of back and forth, we received the refund and a loyalty card.
