Last time I was there was about years ago and I still got the dish I was looking for. Great cuisine from Badenia. A must go if you vist Heidelberg

We haven’t been here since a while but it is still very much recommended. The Sauerbraten was very tender and tasty. Also the boar roast was also very good. Simply good old German kitchen with a friendly and fast service.

found this old' outdoor biergarten close to our hotel and loved its neighbourhood feel only blocks from the main street and river and the crowds. Warm and friendly with good food and beer and it was my frequent pause before returning to the Acor hotel,...a block away. One night we ate in the large barrel at the end. Never did go inside because in the late summer heat it was too nice to be outside. Comfortable and non-touristic. View menu

Initial welcome was a bit abrupt. We were offered English language menu which don’t have prices and a German one which does. The restaurant has two parts we chose the quieter side. Decor is somewhat dated overall. Our first server was a bit unfriendly (hence...the average rating) but the choice of food was good and the service was quick. Our second server was more friendly wishing us a nice stay in Heidelberg. Overall good value for money.

The food here is just great. Traditional German specialties and always a few seasonal dishes to suit the current time of the year. Portion sizes are adequate and prices very reasonable. As for the drinks, there is great beer on tap and one doesn't look...any further to match the hearty food. Service is prompt and efficient. No card payment is possible here which I find a bit outdated, however I think the prices are low enough to pay in cash. It's nice to sit outside in the summer.

We found this place by accident on our first evening. I liked the old fashioned writing on the sign. It has indoor tables and a lovely beer garden out back. We sat outside since the weather was warm. We like the simple but excellently cooked...food and fast friendly service so much that we came back for the next two evenings. The cheese spätzle was the best I had tasted, the fish was prepared perfectly and the pork steaks with onions were tender and tasty. The only problem was that I had no room left for desert (the servings were generous). I would certainly go again and recommend it to others. View menu
