Burnley is known for its industrial heritage, stunning countryside, and local delicacies like Lancashire hotpot and butter pie, reflecting traditional Northern English cuisine.

"My husband and I went out for dinner and had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. The atmosphere was pleasant and the staff, especially the waiters, were fantastic. Florentina, the red-haired girl, was a perfect waiter – kind, friendly, and very professional. Her personality added to the overall perfection! The food was delicious, especially the chicken skewers which were perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. I also got a takeout pizza which was delicious and authentically Italian. I highly recommend this restaurant for its delicious food, clean environment, fantastic staff, and great atmosphere. They also have parking right in front of the restaurant. Bravo!"

"This is a place I have wanted to visit for so long and I'm afraid to say it wasn't what I thought it would be. Met my wife for lunch here and I really fancied the all day breakfast. My wife had the cheesy chicken...burger. Our food came and upon first impression it looked good. 2 sausage, 2 egg, 2 bacon, 2 black pudding, 2 toast, beans and a tomato. The black pudding is so thinly sliced that together they are the thickness of an average slice of pudding. The eggs were one on top of the other and when I moved it, the egg underneath was so overcooked it may as well have been a hard boiled egg. They other was not far off and was not very soft. 2 dips of the sausage and that's the yolk gone. Makes me wonder if the chef hid the hard boiled egg on purpose. It was tasty, but disappointing. My wife's chicken burger was very tasty but very sloppy. With 2 pint of beer and a soft drink it was well priced at £22. The location is nice, looks good inside and out, and staff were friendly. Would I go back? I'm not sure to be honest."

"I had eaten twice in a waggoner than vegetarian, so I knew they had a really extensive and tasty veggie menu, but I was still a bit nervous to go more vegan than I had to eat both earlier times with naughty. it turns out that they have a complete and delicious vegan menu! there are 5 or 6 starters including a vegan suppe of the day that was beautiful. they were so apologetic that they have no milk-free spread for the broth I think they would normally. the moving mountain burger was really nice and the wedges with which he came were beautiful. I could not believe that there are four correct puddings and options of the milk free cream or ice. I had warm chocolate fudge cake with milk free ice cream and it was the most beautiful dessert I had been going since the vegan. my 2 table attendants are carnivores and enjoyed their meal (not vegan), so it is a good place to go when they have a mixed group to please. all my foods came with a flag in it, so the kitchen clearly put effort to call their vegan foods and to handle it appropriately. I am also tee-total and found the soft drinks menu really extensive. they have not only the usual softdrinks 0% beer, wine and apple wine. it was not allowed to give him 5 stars as it is not completely vegan."

"A party of 13 of us enjoyed our birthday meal here. The Sunday set menu special deal is amazing value and everyone of us loved it. Copious amounts of freshly cooked food served piping hot. All tastes catered for( vegetarian)on request. Service was friendly and efficient and Carole the owner was the perfect host from the booking process to leaving after the meal. Would highly recommend. Thank you."

"Absolutely superb restaurant, we loved it from first going in to leaving. Was lovely and quiet when we arrived so was greeted by staff straight away and given the choice of anywhere we liked to sit. They asked us for drinks and were so fast in bringing them. They gave us more than enough time to choose our food so we didn’t feel pressured to order, and I was amazed at how fast and well done the darling bread starter was out! Our pasta dishes were only 5 minutes behind the pizza so not long at all, amazing service. When we were all done the table was cleaned up swiftly and asked for any more food, but we were not rushed out when we didn’t want anything else which I did really appreciate. Just an all round gorgeous building with amazing food and drink options. Superb staff that want to help and keep everything so clean and tidy."

"Came here for brunch today. We were told to choose a seat rather than be seated. We were not offered a menu or told how/where to order. I then asked a waitress who told me to order at the counter. Apparently the only food you can order is what is out on display. There were some paninis and sandwiches in the fridge and cakes at the counter. I wanted a simple cheese and ham panini but this was not an option unfortunately. I ordered a chicken tikka and cheese panini. It was delicious to be fair, but not really what I was after. Also I normally like a side salad but this was not an option either. My daughter had a scone with jam and cream. Was glad to see that the cream was proper clotted cream. All in all the food was really good but a little expensive for what it was I thought. It didn’t fill me up. The decor was lovely and there was a good atmosphere. Staff were nice and service was prompt. Food nicely presented."

"Great newish bar in what is fast becoming know as 'Burnleys Northern Quarter '. Good atmosphere, decent choice of beers 'n drinks, friendly, helpful barstaff. Great 'live music ' bar with regular bands and acts on packing the place out. You can also get pizzas, wings and various other snacks. I 've only ever had the pizzas and wings so can only review these, but have to say they were both very good and not too pricey"

"Been before and had no hesitation coming back when some overseas visitors insisted on an Indian meal. The menu is vast and creative. We ended up having a mixed platter starter that went down well and a mix of mains that we all shared. All very good. Service was professional. Unbelievably (or perhaps a reflection of the midweek nighttime economy in Burnley) there was nobody else in the entire time we were here (Tuesday evening). That’s no reflection on the restaurant. Now with Thursday and Sunday special menus I wonder if extending it for the rest of the midweek trade would help."

"I usually don't like to criticize local businesses, but I must say that this restaurant needs some improvement. I have dined here many times over the years and always found it to be decent for the price. However, during my recent visit, the service was extremely slow. While we were seated promptly and served poppadoms and chutneys within 10 minutes, they were soft instead of crispy. We had to wait over 30 minutes just to be given a menu. The starters from the set menu were average at best. Our main meals took 1.5 hours to arrive after we had sat down. I informed my family that we would leave in 5 minutes if the food did not arrive, and it only just made it in time. By then, I had lost my appetite. The food was okay, but nothing extraordinary - the chicken in the curry tasted like typical takeaway chicken chunks. The soft drinks did not taste like Coke or Pepsi, but more like a cheap, syrupy cordial. I am disappointed in Usha - it used to be my favorite curry house in Burnley, but now it looks run down with ripped wallpaper in the toilets, a slippery laminated floor in the main dining area, and tired-looking sofas in the reception area. They really need to step up their game."

"I have ordered from here last 17 years and it has been the pinnacle of chinese food for the family. However the last three orders have been shocking. Salt and pepper chips no seasoning in terms of onions chillies pepper garlic I could but would not serve what is claimed to be S P chips everyone has salt and pepper at home. As usual chips dried up and cold and food well could have purchased from a store. Asked the lady if it was a new chef she said no.. made me more concerned. No apologies just silence when I rang to provide feedback. We will never order from there again. Hope you guys have a better experience. Shocking to say the least. PS sort it out."

"My boyfriend and I decided to stop by Nines for a quick drink; the interior decor and atmosphere were really impressive! The space is beautifully styled and the service from the staff is exceptional. They are very friendly and attentive, making our experience top-notch. The drinks selection and cocktails are fantastic, earning a perfect score from us. The menu is a bit limited in terms of options, but we understand that they specialize in pizza. We tried the halloumi fries as a starter from the tapas menu, and although they were nicely presented, we felt a bit disappointed by the portion size. We also shared a garlic and cheese bread, which was generous in size but overly greasy. Despite these issues, we plan to return to Nines for the excellent service, drinks, and ambiance. With a few adjustments to their cooking process, Nines could be truly outstanding. We were also pleasantly surprised to receive a £5 voucher upon leaving, and plan to bring my Stepdaughter for a third visit in the coming weeks in hopes of a better experience."

"Awful is the only way to describe this! Which is upsetting. Having never ever left a bad review even more so in my home town, I feel I need to let people know how unwelcoming this place is. We had booked a table for 4 and were placed in a table for two squished between 2 tables for 4. One empty and one beyond raucous! We moved along but was then informed by the manager/owner ours was the table in the middle. The group on the adjoining table had spread onto where we were expected to eat/drink. If felt very intimidating and uncomfortable. When we said we had booked a table for 4, we were informed ‘so has my wife!’ Maybe not the response I was expecting as a customer! To be fair when the ladies came over they were extremely gracious and happy to sit in the space we were supposed to sit in. Obviously more aware of their surroundings and possibly knew the customers weren’t regular! The manager came back over and when I said it was awful and he asked why?!? He said he couldn’t help who comes into his establishment!!! I totally agree but as the manager you are in charge and have responsibility to ensure that customers feel comfortable and safe!!! The group eventually left (following friends who I believe didn’t pay for their drinks! and we were moved along. I can honestly say if it wasn’t for the kindness of the lady who was in the party of the owners wife we wouldn’t have stayed. She showed compassion and was fully aware of an awful situation that no one should face when going for a lovely night out with friends. The owner/manager needs to up skill on customer service. The food was great (minus the tomato pizza that was delivered to another table but his attitude and treatment of customers was quite honestly shocking."

"Went the Cat's Whiskers Reunion in September (which was brilliant! so thought the Carribean themed Christmas would be just as good. It was all decked out quite beautifully and there were some people there to greet the party goers which was a really nice touch. I prefer my food to be less well cooked and in the starter the large prawn on top was off, but when I mentioned this I was told that it was all fresh that day! My taste-buds know when something is fresh! The young waiting staff were very polite and eager to please. Also I'd sent information to the chef about my dietary needs: I hope he'll research what is required for a Healthy Keto diet in future. The band were good but I expected a bit more class at this establishment. Someone who caters for the more refined tastes in music and entertainment. The DJ played people's request's (hooray! and was polite and well-behaved. He was the best part about the whole night and I would have enjoyed it more if he'd had a larger time-slot after we'd all finished eating and/or at the end of the evening. The person in the cloakroom was a complete gentleman and politely helped me put my coat on."

"Have visited before and it`s always been fine. This time, though, it was a different picture. Booked a table for 7pm, but when we got there just before 7 there were people standing in the doorway sheltering from the rain. Knowing we had a booking, we squeezed past them, only to be confronted by the `Manager` telling us to stay outside as there were no tables free. When we explained we had a booking for 7pm, he repeated the message that there were no tables free and said we would have to wait outside. Shocked by the situation and realising we were way down his list of people waiting for a table, we left. Sadly can`t comment on the food because we didn`t get to sample any. A really poor way to deal with Customers. Won`t be returning."

"We went last night to try the new menu, friendly welcome from the young lady behind the bar , I order the Wexford chicken and my partner had the fish and chips , both meals were very delicious , the chicken was moist and tasty and the sauce was excellent, the fish was fresh and the batter was excellent nice and crispy the only down side to the food was the chips which were very delicious but not enough of them for an adequate adults portion, I we decided to order desserts , so he had apple crumble and custard which he said was delicious although it was a massive portion and again served with the smallest amount of custard, I had the Eaton mess(alcohol free) again delicious just missing a little more of the meringue, Over all a vey nice experience although service side could do with a little more attention , no quality check during or after the meal , mains plates still on the table when deserts arrived , and no thank you or goodbye when leaving"

"Went into this little cafe in Burnley and it was heaving. They had lots of staff on to deal with the half term rush and we were able to get a table quickly. The choice of food is great jackets, salad, toasties and sandwiches plus a huge range of savoury and sweet crepes waffles. They also have a smaller kids menu with healthy options, vegan and organic alternatives. I have given the cafe 5* because it delivers excellent choice, well presented and great tasting food. Something different to the normal chain coffee shops. Customer service was also good. I should point out it is a cafe and you have to order your food from the counter, please don’t go expecting restaurant service. It’s not the cheapest eatery in town lunch for 4 people cost us £60. However, we did have two rounds of drinks including milkshakes smoothies which are never cheap. Thoroughly enjoyed it and will be going back."

"Where do is start with the restaurant... Firstly the food was limited we had to wait 10/15 minutes for rice to be cooked, ban bread to be cooked, the salad was stale and not fresh, the chicken jalfrezi looked old and all mashed, the jelly was not set at all. Secondly the service, the drinks came after 10 minutes of us being there. The mango lassi was so watery and no hint of mango in it. They had no sprite, 7up or diet coke. Thirdly the bill, the staff was so argumentative about the age of our children. I have given birth to my children and know how old they are, they may appear older physically however the staff member became defensive and said they do not look their age. I found this very saddening that for couple of pounds the male staff member wanted to argue with me in front of my young children who he could see was getting clearly distressed. I offered him to pay full however he had the decency to say that you have done this before. Accusing me of being untruthful about my children’s age and visiting the restaurant before. Then he had the nerves to ask my children in front of me ‘you have visited here before’ which my children stated no its our first time. This is how unprofessional the staff and illmannerd they are as they asked my children when me as a parent confirmed that i have not visited the restaurant before... I am still upset, angry and hurt by the staff members allegations of being untruthful. I will never visit this restaurant, please stay away from this place."

"Booked here for my partners mothers day meal with me and our two children. Booked for 5pm as our children need to be in bed for 7.30pm Menu was very limited with not a great deal to chose from and after waiting for our food for over an hour (which I kind of expected and wasn’t to mad at with it being Mother’s Day) I decided to ask a staff member to check in on our food which turned out that our food had not even been made. They offered to put the food on but at this point it was too late so we had to leave. A full refund was issued but unfortunately we won’t be returning."

"vegetarian hidden gem, big caffe. see this pop-up on happy cow, pleased as it is in my hometown, that is now a vegan caffe and a vegetarian caffe that have opened in burnley in the same month! I never went to the red triangle, but it is where the former vegetarian caffeine was. it is a “link and they miss it”. we went past a few times before we found it. aptly named ‘a sixty’ and located on 160 st James’ street. great central location. they have a normal menu and a special board. everything on the menu was either vegan or vegan beside the halloumi burger, everything on the special board could be vegan and from the display cabinet was nothing vegan except the bananenbrot. I would say it would be great to offer vegan cakes as well as vegetarian! we ordered a latte and a shallow white, they do both hafer and soy milk for vegans. my man (omnivore) and I both ordered everything completely vegan and loved our food! Between us we had mac and cheese that came with black pudding and was delicious and garlicky and the specialties; thai burger (yellow and spicy, delicious) sweet potato wedge (perfect cooked with great taste,) pfancake and banan the best! the bananas were caramelized and so tasteful. you could have had blueberries instead. can't wait to have it back. a couple of bananenbrot took home, was again beautiful. for everything, plus another flat white it was £25.10 very reasonable! inside there is a wood burner that creates a cozy feeling. there are 5 tables where you sit. beautiful atmosphere with music in the background. the personal was friendly. they plan to make future art events! 2 unisex toilets are located above. I suppose it's dog friendly as there's a lovely 6 weeks old patterdale welpe in with a family when we were there."
