"What a gem of a store! I have lived in Aylsham for a long time and have used this shop in the past. I recently visited and was blown away by the variety of delicious offerings. The bread is fantastic, they have a selection of hot food, an assortment of drinks, and the ready-made rolls look amazing. The staff is very helpful and efficient. The cakes, especially the Belgian buns, are the best in town. I think I may be addicted to them as they are simply delicious, fresh, and soft. Now that I have discovered this shop, I will definitely be returning more often. It's a shame they don't open earlier so I could treat my friends at work, but they will just have to buy their own! Do you happen to offer any gluten-free options? "

Popped in for a bit to eat on a Saturday lunchtime we both had the chicken, bacon and leak Cornish pasty which was excellent. Friendly service

The woman working at the counter was very disrespectful and spoke to us as if we were children. The pasty cost £3.30, but the rudeness was not worth it. I do not plan on going back. View menu

My family and I have enjoyed breakfast at this restaurant numerous times, as well as purchasing rolls, cakes, and sausage rolls. The quality is always top-notch and the hot drinks are also very good.

We came to Aylsham on the Bure Valley Railway from Wroxham and had been wandering around for a couple of hours. A seat in the market place became free and my wife fetched drinks and a Norfolk Shortbread from here. The cake was good and my wife said that she'd received the best most friendly service since lockdown began. View menu

We went into Flour And Bean after trying two other eating places very nearby and walking out because the vegan/vegetarian options were dreadful. As soon as we walked in we saw vegan sausage rolls, vegan pasties and a selection of vegan pastries and cakes. The staff were just lovely friendly and efficient and the food was very tasty the sausage rolls especially went down very well indeed. Honestly, we weren’t expecting much when we went in as it is a food chain, so the food and staff were a very pleasant surprise. It is a very small place to eat, but the staff put their heart into their work and it shows,

"Where do I even begin? The service from the woman behind the bar was shocking. When I inquired about dairy-free options for my son, I was told that nothing could be modified and that they don't cater to allergies at all! I pointed out the menu's claim that they could accommodate such needs, but my concerns were met with an eye roll. I then tried to order him some chips, but was told they were fried in the same oil as dairy and meat products, and since we are vegetarian, that wouldn't work. I asked about the vegan dishes, only to learn that they are also prepared alongside meat products, so there's no guarantee they would actually be vegan. At this point, my daughters had already become excited about eating out and the play area, so I reluctantly decided to go along with it and ordered three sandwiches on granary bread and a child's fish and chips. My son had a packet of crisps. When the sandwiches arrived, they were absolutely terrible. The cheese and onion sandwich consisted of two slices of cheap store-bought bread, some pre-grated cheese, and a few onion slices—without even a hint of butter! It certainly wasn’t inexpensive; we paid £45 for four soft drinks, three sandwiches, and a child's meal. As for the play area, it was concerning—there were sharp screws poking through the wood chips, loose sharp fixtures on top of the slide, and a large exposed electric cable under the swings! We decided to leave swiftly; it was such a disappointing way to end our holiday, when it should have been a lovely final meal before heading home. I was appalled by their attitude towards me—I felt like an inconvenience. The food was awful, and I genuinely recommend avoiding this place if you are vegan or have allergies; even if a dish is labeled vegan, they certainly don’t take the necessary precautions to keep it separate from meat products. It’s truly unfortunate, as the location by the river is beautiful, and we were all so excited to be there, but we left feeling very disappointed. We definitely won't be returning."
