"We have eaten at this restaurant a number of times over the last few years pre COVID, including hosting approximately 20 people for lunch in 2018, however I doubt we will return as there are too many other options which offer good food and better experiences. The setting here is superb, particularly if seated out on the terrace overlooking the vineyards growing up the hill to the Villa. We are happy to pay a bit extra to enjoy such settings provided that the quality of the food and service match the views. On this occasion it certainly did not. Menu looked good until we were advised of what dishes listed on it, some of our choices, were not available as a new menu was being prepared. There is no doubt a lot of preparation in presenting a new menu and new dishes but why cut out dishes on the old menu before you are ready for the new one. We ordered the prawn dish special (Gambero marinato which was a cold dish) and the lettuce and ricotta involtino (Involtino di lattuga) which arrived flooded in a tomato sauce. Both dishes were OK. As mains we were both seeking to order the beef tagliata however our young waitress was very insistent that we should order the Fiorentina (which we have tried numerous times before). We protested that this would be too large a dish and that we would settle for the tagliata but, stupidly, let her talk us into it when she said it would be small (less than 1kg) with those words that when you hear them you should start running trust me! . The small turned out to be 1.3kgs and came in at Euro 89.70. The Fiorentina tasted fine but was far too large (we ended up taking more than half home with us) and at Euro6 90 per kg, far too expensive. It turns out that the wine menu was also being changed as the bottle we ordered was not available. We then ordered another bottle and a different waitress returned with a different bottle to that ordered and again, the trust me you will enjoy this. We rejected the bottle she brought to us and it was then at this stage that the new manager came over to see if we were having problems selecting a wine. Yes. He explained about the new management. I explained what wine we wanted and lo and behold the second bottle we ordered magically appeared. We were very full and didn 't bother with a dessert and just finished our wine and had a coffee. Staff were disorganised and, overall, not very helpful. We obtained the bill on the way out and, given the staff 's performance to date, decided to check it thoroughly. Sure enough they had attempted to charge us for two bottles of wine, including the bottle first ordered which they didn 't have. Not recommended."
