"I love this chips shop couple of weeks ago I got the best fish supper ever, this rating is based on today's experience. I ordered a fish supper, a single fish and hamburger supper the woman that answered the phone sounded annoyed that I asked for a delivery then within 30 min the food arrived undercooked and swimming in grease totally disgusting. They need to find out which member of staff likes undercooking food as it could get dangerous I've already suffered ecoli from a meteor pizza from a certain pizza shop."

absolutely delicious, the best kebab I have eaten in very long time, the pizza is a real Italian pizza, well presented with high quality ingredients.

The pizza base was nice, however the toppings very minimal and tomatoe sauce on base was spread so thin you could not taste or see it. Shame as it would be a lovely pizza View menu

Absolutely frustrating! I ordered food two hours ago, and despite receiving confirmation, it never arrived. I'm so angry; it seems like it must have been delivered to the wrong address. I won’t be coming back and definitely can’t recommend this place!

I ordered three single fish, a 12-inch pizza, and a couple of large portions of chips. Unfortunately, the fish was greasy, soggy, and lacking in flavor. The pizza was tough, and my kids had a hard time taking bites out of it. I definitely wouldn’t recommend this place; there are better fish and chip shops in and around Dalkeith. I won't be returning.

"Having successfully completed a major project I took my team out as a small thank you. There were 5 of us and we arrived around 1030h for breakfast. We were greeted by the very .lovely Amy, who promptly seated us. She was polite, friendly and attentive. She took our drinks orders, then our breakfasts. We all opetd for the full Scottish at under a tenner each. The meal was fabulous, well cooked, piping hot and presented on high quality flatware with good cutlery. The sausages had a delicious crisp outer, the bacon was well done but not hard, the mushrooms were served in a wee bowl with chilli oil. The eggs were perfect, accompanied by a slice of chunky bread, haggis and black pudding. Beans finished it off brilliantly. The teapot was quirky and delightful. Alison, the owner was not only beautiful but very charming with it. She was involved in the serving of our meals and chatted to us as she served us, making us feel more than welcome. Five breakfasts with assorted lattes, cappuccinos and teas was under £70 so very reasonably priced too. I left a well deserved tip and Alison kindly let me know that the full tip always went to the serving staff, so very ethical too. My colleagues were all as suitably impressed as I was. I cannot recommend this place highly enough and the only shame is that my time in Bonnyrigg is over, and I dearly wished I'd found The Beetroot sooner."
