"The worst chips ever! We waited in line for a good 20 minutes before placing our order, and during that time we opted for chips and sausage in batter because there was only one person working and we wanted something simple to avoid a long wait. Our order took 30-40 minutes to be ready, but we didn't mind as we were happy sitting outside near the beach. We were very excited to have chips by the beach, only to be disappointed by how terrible they were! The chips seemed to have been sitting in the fryer for too long, as they were chewy and flavorless. The sausage in batter was hard and dry. It was such a letdown, especially considering everyone had raved about how good they were and how they were better than the food at the campsites. Unfortunately, we have learned our lesson and will not be returning here again."

This was our first time dining at this restaurant and it was absolutely delicious. The fish was beautifully cooked and every dish came out hot and flavorful.

great delicious fish and chips, very friendly service. can be gluten-free and can order up to two in a time when they tell them 30 minutes, that is not a problem. they are very busy but super helpful View menu

The staff was very welcoming and there was only a brief wait. The availability of benches and the great beach views from the front row made for a pleasant dining experience. The chips were some of the best I've ever had.

We recently dined at this restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The owner is a lovely person and the curry sauce was delicious. We were very satisfied with both the service and the quality of food - likely the best we have had from a chip shop.

Great little chippy in a ticked away location. Beautiful scenic setting right in the beach front. Pub is next door. The guy who runs it is friendly. Seating area is available. Lovely to sit and eat and watch the sea. If like us, your at a local camp site and just too tired to caml cook.. This place is perfect. View menu

what a beautiful place to have their fish and chips. astonishing in mind! even more for a better wein. that was worth it. the waiter really took care of us, and it was so inviting that the owner/cook at the end of our meal spoke to us. it was a beautiful evening walk there and back from bigbury on the sea many thanks and hope to come back soon!

This place is great; there is a take away bar and a dine-in ‘shack’ (slightly off site to the holiday park). While we waited for our takeaway, we sat on benches which overlook the beach with lovely views. The food was made fresh and only waited 8 mins for a tasty meal. I ordered scampi and chips… scampi was good quality and chips were as chippy chips should be! The curry sauce was fresh and full of flavour. The owner was friendly and the dine-in area looked quaint with additional items on the menu, such as calamari. Good value for money. A lovely gem tucked away on the coast.

"The positive is that the food is good. But the negative is the service time and the attitude of the staff. We were seated and had our order taken after 20 minutes. A little slow but it was a busy Saturday evening so understandable. Starters came promptly and were eaten. We then got ignored by every passing member of staff for at least 50 minutes. Quite the skill! Once there was a break in our conversation and I realised how long it had been, I stood up to intercept a waitress and asked “are our mains on the way, please?” Our ticket was checked by her at the kitchen hatch and we were told “yes”. At this point our starter plates were cleared after they had sat on the table for at least 35 minutes. Our mains then took another 25 minutes to get to us, so I suspect that being told they were on their way was a lie. To be clear: we were given our mains 1hr 20 mins after placing our order. I complained to a waitress who sent over a manager. The manager asked if we’d had starters (yes, we had) and said that it was our fault our main was so late as we’d had a first course. How insulting!!! Blaming the customer for their bad service. Disgusting. When I said it was still far too long to wait between courses she then changed tack and said the kitchen was “really really busy” well, they weren’t busy cooking our food now were they?! And despite the place being full when we arrived, by this point of the night over half the tables were empty. There were 3 tickets on the pass along with ours and tables were 2 4 people (no large groups) so I feel that was also another lie to get out of it. What a shocking way to treat customers! My advice to you is: if you want your food served in a timely manner, either take the advice of the manager and don’t order a starter, or, be sure to communicate with waitstaff once your first course is finished and ask for your main to be cooked and served promptly. (Note: food also sat under the heat lamps for long lengths of time as staff stood socialising with one another behind the bar rather than serve customers) I hope this advice is of use as I would have appreciated it ahead of my visit! Good luck. [Reading other reviews, ours is not the only experience of slow service and seeing staff chat to one another rather than deal with the customers paying their wages.
