"I went with my sister, brother-in-law, his family and my niece. We went in separate cars and my sister was able to leave her car across the road. It offered free parking for the rest of the day from just after 4pm onwards. When we arrived, it was very crowded and noisy which didn't please my niece as she is autistic. But, we managed to find a bit of a quieter area at the back (though it was a bit dark). As there were quite a few of us, we decided to put two tables together. The menu said we could either order from the pub's app or order at the bar. There wasn't much for me to choose from, as I'm a vegetarian and have to eat healthily because of my health. In the end, I had the grilled halloumi salad with vegetables while the others except my sister and niece had chips with either a burger or a fried egg and sausage. My sister had one of their curries and my niece had cheesy chips with nachos. All our meals included a drink. I had a bottle of water, which a glass of ice and slices of lemon in it. Everyone else, except my niece (who had an orange juice) had some kind of alcohol. At nearly £9 for me, I thought it was on the bit expensive side, as I only tend to have small meals. But, it was quite filling for me."

I visited this restaurant for breakfast on two mornings and received excellent service. The food was good, affordable, and consistent as always. I will definitely be coming back.

A beautiful place with good food, good prices, good people and last but not least: a good bathroom. There's a lot of space, so you can come in large groups. We were 20 people and went there twice for breakfast and once for dinner, and there was always enough room for everyone.

Cool evening front door closed patio doors open. Downstairs feels like the airco is on. Fortunately I 'm sitting in the 'Heavens ' so not too chilly but with autumn around the corner someone needs to tell Tim about how his profit is being squanderd by very poor heating/cooling management.

Recommended and featured in the Good Pub Guide and Good Beer Guide. As is often the case with Wetherspoon pubs this is set in a beautiful historic building. Attractive gardens to one side. Known for amazing value for both food and drinks. Children welcome but not dogs. This is Devon Tim Martin! View menu

Only went in following visit to the Cathedral, Got to say for a 'Spoons ' this was super. The layout was great, the staff were superb and the service was very quick. We ordered a pizza to share and this actually really tasty. let 's face it you know you get what you pay for in a JDW but this really stood out for us as the best we 've visited. Well Done.

I stopped by for a quick lunch and enjoyed using the app to order easily. The pizza was great value and delicious. The drinks were of their usual quality and value, but the fried halloumi was not very appetizing. However, overall it was excellent value for the price. The restaurant is located in a fabulous building and they should be commended for making use of such lovely architecture and preventing it from falling into disrepair.

I have visited this restaurant for breakfast a few times recently and tried the gluten-free "Freedom Breakfast," which was well presented and a good value. I also came back later for some delicious real cider from the tap, which was enjoyable. The service was friendly on both occasions. This charming Wetherspoons location is just a short walk from the city center and cathedral, yet it is much more laid-back than other nearby pubs. The transformation into a pub was done very tastefully, and I appreciate the atmosphere here. View menu

We popped in here early on a Sunday Evening for a bite to eat and a few drinks. There was plenty of room to have a choice of table but busy enough to give a good atmosphere. We chose on of the high tables on the ground floor. If you choose to go upstairs there is no bar so either have to use the app to order or walk back downstairs to the bar. There is an outside area that was very pleasant and can get the late afternoon sun. We ordered both our food and drinks at the bar and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The food didn't take too long to come and all was very tasty although we notice the size of the pizza in the small plates range is now a little smaller. A slightly above average...

Popped in here on Saturday afternoon. The bar was understaffed, but fortunately there wasn't a queue, so I didn't have to wait long to be served. Decided we would make use of the dry weather and find a table in the garden, of which there were a few not being used but that was probably more due to the tables being stacked with dirty plates and glasses. So we sat at one of these, moved the empties to the end of the table so they could be taken away easily, and remarked at how filthy and sticky the table was. Fast forward 30 minutes and no sign of any staff meant the rubbish had piled up on several more tables, eventually however they were slowly cleared away but thats as far as it went, the sq...

"Owner rude and arrogant! And you can’t trust them and they won’t make your order right by just saying too busy to make it right! I called in to make a booking but told no tables available but I could place an order for takeaway so I ordered two gluten free pizzas. I also asked what size are the gluten free pizza crust and was told 11”. I was told I would need to wait 1 hour 30 minutes and I agreed. I ordered the Gluten free 11 “ crust as advised for one Olive Tree and one Garlicky . When I arrived, I asked the person with the pizzas to confirm the gluten free pizzas. She looked a bit worried and said they were not gluten free. I asked the other girl if I would have to wait another 1.5 hrs and she said they would expedite my pizzas. The owner came over and said he had two vegan pizzas for 8:30 pm and I said that is not what I ordered. He said he was too busy to remake the pizzas. He said the girl that took the order said she didn’t remember gluten free was ordered. As a Celiac , those are the first words out of my mouth when I order any food and I also inquired the size of the gluten free crust and frequently they are pre-made and sealed and I was told they are 11”. He would not remake the pizzas as he said he has to trust his staff. So he implies the customer are lying and uses it as an excuse to not make it right. It doesn’t excuse not remaking the pizzas correctly as ordered gluten free as I was told a few minutes earlier. I assured him I ordered both pizzas gluten free and my wife came in and also confirmed as she heard me place the order on the phone. I realize this pizza must be well done and popular but not to remake the pizzas and imply me a liar and refusing to remake them is unprofessional. I find his behavior arrogant, rude and unprofessional and just because he went to Italy to learn how to make pizza doesn’t make him a good owner and manager. Hopefully, he won’t blow off this review but learn from it. Always make it right for your customers! And never insult your customers! It also suggest he doesn’t care about his customers because he is too busy. He walks away and just repeats he has to trust his employees. Poor excuse for not making the pizzas as ordered! Employees can make mistakes and as a Coeliac I will also double check as I did when I came to pick up the pizzas. I would advise Coeliacs to not try these pizzas as you can’t trust them to make them to your order. Peace be with you! Dietary restrictions You cannot trust this place to make your gluten free as ordered and they won’t remake it if they made it wrong and just say I have to trust my staff. Very Poor attitude from an owner and a bit arrogant! Customers don’t appear to be important and must be lying if they get an order wrong."
