"we, as a family of 4 had many things from the menu. everything we had is perfect, fresh and so super tasty! they have a great choice on their menu. there is something for everyone! including the pooches! they have dog-friendly cookies and ice cream so that their buddy can join. we visited giovanni’s a few days ago. that was for the first time since covid. they have taken additional measures to ensure that their customers are safe and we still support a local business. the personal here is wonderful. they are some of the most beautiful people they will meet. and if you do not smile on your face, then they will do it. great prices, high quality food and service and a wonderful atmosphere. What else do you want?"

Loved the ice cream. Definitely going back. I had chocolate and a blackberry/cream can't remember exactly what it was called but both were amazing.

Giovanni’s is a lovely little café. There’s a wide variety of ice cream, beverages and drinks for a reasonable price especially considering they target tourists. All staff are very pleasant and passionate. Most importantly, all the ice creams and beverages are delicious!

A friendly welcoming café. The staff were really nice and when they saw there were 4 of us ordering ice cream 2 people served us to speed up the process which I thought was good. The ice creams we had were really good and there was a really good range of flavours which I believe change regularly although I have only been once so can't confirm this. There was also a nice place to sit and eat them inside which was good, especially on a hot day.

I’ve been visiting Giovanni’s for many years as I’m a Bridgnorth Resident! It’s a place to meet interesting People while you enjoy your Tea, Coffee or Crepe’. Your Dog will receive a Biscuit, which always goes down well ! Don’t be disappointed if you don’t see ‘Sam’, she’s moved on to Pastures New ! She’s passed the Baton on to Emily, who has worked at Giovannis’ for many Years. To find this ‘Little Gem of a Cafe’, head for the Cartway, and it’s on your left, right at the top ! They serve the Best IceCream in Town with a Fantastic Choice! My particular choice is Salted Caramel but there’s lots more to to pick from! When you visit Bridgnorth, make sure to give them a try!

"Beautifull hotel, I guess one can call it trendy , but I just don 't understand how they can justify the price £130/night and that most of the time will go to £160 as they run out of entry level ones. So I guess the answer is there because people pay for it! But let 's just make some relevant comparisons Birmingham Grand literally in the heart of the city, brand new, 5* hotel, with all recently decorated rooms to the highest standard is £135 15 for breakfast. Needless to say rooms are air conditioned, fully equipped and genuinelly very posh. Hotel has lifts, has porters and the service is top notch. The Lion is barelly 4* just for trendiness alone, but the actual quality of furnishing is closer to 3*, has no lift and you will be lugging your bags up and down mutiple flights of stairs (and I mean multiple like 8 going up and down) trought narrow corridors to mediocre room (nothing wrong with it just mediocre) which isn 't even air conditioned. Sorry, I just don 't get it. That said restaurant is good fully fine dining if you are into it. Althought in my oppinion it doesn 't fit into the rest of the hotel. So it is ~3.5* hotel which is very youghtfull and trendy and then you get 5* fine dining with very tiny portions for the dinner (which is not criticism of restaurant, it is very good on it 's own). In conclussion I just don 't get what niche this hotel is filling, who stays there and why. The price for the rooms should be £75 95 tops. Shreesbury is not exactly prime tourists destination either (at least shouldn 't). But it seems it is working out for them, I just would not recommend it, I would not stay in it again and it is definatelly not worth the price. Neither in isolation, nor in comparison."

"Open since 1970 and located on Mardol, one of Shrewsbury’s oldest streets @thecurryhouseshrewsbury serves locally sourced ingredients married with traditional spices and chillies from the Indian subcontinent, a match made in heaven. 5 5 Recommended Price No better way to kick off proceedings but with popadoms, chutneys and fresh onion salad. On to appetisers and there are so many tempting dishes to choose with many of these exclusive to the curry house. Our first time trying Pani Puri. A sweet and spicy hot street food snack filled with chickpeas and tamarind sat on a bed of crunchy, nutty Bombay mix. With a building but pleasant heat, definitely something everyone should try. The quality and freshness of the seafood was exceptional. Spicy king prawns were huge and cooked to perfection. Charred on the outside for flavour but juicy and meaty. Trio of King scallops were beautifully tender and of a good size with sweetness from the tamarind liquor. Lamb rogan Josh tender lamb shoulder in a medium hot ginger tomato and onion sauce. A strong take on a traditional favourite of ours. Fresh from the Tandoor a generous mix of marinaded chicken, lamb, king prawns and a chargrilled lamb chop. The Tandoori deluxe massalla sauce was the perfect blend of sweetness melting into a subtle heat which brought the dish together perfectly. The curry house takes traditional dishes and flavours from the Indian subcontinent and elevates them to a level beyond expectations. Thank you for our invite to share the exciting menu created with passion and creativity. "Fantastic range of small dishes and meals for lunch and dinner. The menu ranges from scandi to oriental, so something for everyone. The menu is clearly marked with allergens, including what meals can be adapted. The chicken is halal and vegan and vegetarian options are plentiful. The cocktail and mocktail menu is great and they do one of the best espresso martinis in Shrewsbury. The decor is modern and comfortable and there is plenty of space. As a wheelchair user, I can get into the ground floor and to a table. The outside seats are up a small step, but the whole front of the building is a retractable wall of windows, so I can still get the feeling of eating outside in good weather. The service is friendly and knowledgeable about allergies, the menu and the wine list. The staff are helpful and unobtrusive. The only difficulty for me (hence the 4 star review) is that the accessible bathroom is next door, in their sister bar, Libertine. Unfortunately, libertine isn't open the same hours as HotRS, so I can only use it at certain times. The ladies does have a lock on the door, so staff have cleared the ladies toilets, which allowed me to take my chair in and lock the door. I had to walk a couple of steps to get into a stall but my chair was safely with me. Of course, there is also no alarm cord, but they stood outside the door so would have heard if I shouted for help."
