"If I had looked at the reviews more closely I probably would not have booked. Inconsistency seems to feature a lot. We had attended the launch of their Butler Gin a few weeks ago which was great evening and as we had not dined in the Granary for over 15 years following a poor meal, we decided to give it another go. I booked for a Saturday evening dinner to take Australian friends for a special meal. We were disappointed. Worryingly we were the only guests, but put that down to bestival being held in the park that weekend. This of course did not help the ambience and the place did feel a little tired. The staff were friendly and welcoming. We ordered some olives with our drinks which arrived with our starters, clearly out of a cash and carry jar with stripes of peppers and sweet onions in brine. Not what we expected of a high end restaurant. The starters sounded promising but were disappointing in taste. The mains were better, especially the sea bream with linguine which was excellent. The tuna on the other hand was over charred and over cooked. Desserts were ok, the millefeuille was sloppy and the 'artisan ' cheese biscuits were not artisan but out of the Waitrose essential range. The coffee was undrinkable and when I complained about this it was taken off the bill. The waitress said she knew it was not good as they were having difficulty with a new coffee machine! Well don 't serve it then! The wine was good. Overall a very disappointing experience and as much as I would like to support this local restaurant to us we won 't be back. Sorry The Granary but you need to get the basics right."

Overpriced. Under serviced. Lacking in food hygiene. Slow. Don't bother. Better to take a flask and your own lunch.

We had a meal here for mum's 80th birthday (there were over 20 of us). Exceptional experience and attentive staff throughout, will definitely book again.

Afternoon Tea. Disappointing and below the standard expected for the venue and the cost. It was a birthday treat, it wasn't a treat for any of us. We will not be returning.

Avoid. We were here on Easter Sunday and had booked a dome for the £30 additional rental. It was a 3 course meal for £38 each which we thought was slightly costly but we thought would be worth it for a special day. First of...

Possibly the WORST Dining experience we have ever had. Whilst exhibiting at the classic car show on Easter Sunday we thought that we would forego the event food trucks in favour of the Restaurant permanently sited in the grounds. As it was a Bank Holiday...

Spacious and light restaurant with lovely views from many of the windows. Spotlessly clean with very welcoming staff Food choices on the menu were thoughtful with an emphasis on local produce. I started with the pork skins which were wonderfully puffy and crunchy. Then had the cold platter of selected local cheeses and meats with a very good pork pie. Plenty of parking

Visited with our good friends Sharon and Gary for Sunday lunch. Lovely location and the staff were very nice. Prices about what you would expect and the fish cake starter was above average. What’s made me want to write the review was the main course. Listed as sirloin of beef (served pink , this was some of the best, if not the best roast beef I’ve ever had. OMG. It was gorgeous; soft, moist and tasty. You didn’t need a knife to cut it. The accompaniments were all very good (particularly enjoyed the white beetroot, I think it was? , but would definitely return for the beef.

This place is an underrated little nugget. We have eaten in some of the best restaurants across Britain and Scotland and the granary easily holds its ground in comparison. Anna top chef has the ability to create menus that tempt and startle with taste combinations that dazzle. This restaurant should be booked out every night of the week and weekend. If you haven’t been then book now! The lemon tart with pink pepper meringue stole my husbands heart and he said “it’s taken nu 1 place in his favourites”.”And second in over all dishes coming second only to chateaubriand in a restaurant in Kablinsk “. That’s some going!

Attended Weston Park for art exhibition in the morning. Decided to visit Granary for coffee and cake before hand. Never again. A nice place, but that is all I can say about it. Normally greeted with a smile at most places. Miserable lot. Gave the impression could not care less if we were there or not. No menu on the table or blackboard price list. Waitress came and we ordered 2 Americano coffees. At £4.00 each daylight robbery. Coffee ok but nothing to rave about. Smaller cup than the smallest serving at a place like Costa. Asked about Gluten Free pastries. Shrug of the shoulders from the waitress. Don 't know, will ask the chef and come back she said. Never did!! Didn 't want to know. So my...

"Been wanting to come here for a very long time after driving/walking past it, and my partner has wanted to come here since she’s moved here. Hand sanitizer upon arrival with track trace check in code. All the staff are very welcoming, friendly, helpful and all very masks. The lady we had who served us throughout our time (apologise I forgot her name began with A I think), she couldn’t have been anymore helpful. With a very wide range of food, she told us everything on the menu was very nice as she has tried everything! The decor of the restaurant is what I’d expect in a typical Italian restaurant, very rustic and has a feel of being in Italy. To start I had the belly pork with Jack Daniels sauce, I’ve never tried belly pork and it was so tasty and very tender. My other half had the goats cheese in filo pastry which was also very nice. For mains, I had the Risotto con salsiccia (spicy sausage, peppers, onions, garlic, tomato and chilli). It was so nice I’m glad it was a big portion as I wanted more! I don’t think the sausage was spicy but overall I was very impressed. Other half had a cheese chicken mushroom calzone which was also nice. We had a nice bottle of white wine which absolutely complimented the whole meal. For dessert I had sorbet and other half had a deep fried cannoli once again both really nice. Reasonable priced meal for two people, and very highly recommended. Plenty parking and we will be back soon with our family. Very authentic home cooked Italian food and Cafe Casita is way better than some of these chain restaurants!!"
